CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 2, ABINGTON 2
Defense was the name of the game when the Patriots faced the Ghosts. Both goalies came up big with Abington’s Mason Large turning away 33 of 35 shots (.943 save percentage) and CB East’s Chris McIntyre stopping 27 of 29 shots (.931 save percentage).
CB East’s Sean Gorman scored the only goal of the first period, using assists from Rob Kern and Shane West to find the net midway through the period. Abington’s Ryan Gosselin scored the equalizer with a power play goal 5:53 into the second period.
The two teams entered the third period deadlocked 1-1. Jeff Carp (Nick LoCastro assist) scored 3:33 into the period to give the Patriots a one-goal lead. Perry Carpenter erased that lead with a goal for the Ghosts five minutes later. That 2-2 tie stood the rest of the way in a period that saw the Patriots take 16 shots and the Ghosts, 11 shots.

The Rams took care of business in a hurry, opening up a 5-0 lead after one period and adding four more goals in the second on their way to the shutout win. Eric Slater’s five-point night (one goal, four assists) led the Rams while Michael Eissler added a goal and three assists for four points.
Michael White scored a goal that turned out to be the game-winner 2:33 into the game, using an assist from Andrew David. By the time the period had ended, Frankie Rota had a pair of goals while Slater and Nick Eissler each had one goal.
In the second period White scored a short-handed goal with a Slater assist, and he completed his hat trick by adding two more goals sandwiched around a Jeff Manto goal.
Michael Eissler closed out the scoring with a goal three minutes into the final period, using assists from Nick Eissler and Conrad Frisch.
The Rams held a 29-16 advantage in shots in the abbreviated contest.

The Hatters raced out of the gate to a 3-0 lead after one period and extended that to 8-1 in the second period on their way to the decisive win. Vince Tarsi’s three goals and one assist effort (four points) led a balanced Hatter attack.
Tarsi gave the Hatters a lead they would not lose when he scored 2:26 into the opening period with an assist from Seth Lerner. Ben Lerner (Ziyad Elsabbagh assist) and Jordan Gillis added first-period goals.
Lerner’s power play goal in the opening seconds of the second period with assists from Elsabbagh and Alex Howieson put the Hatters on top 4-0. Kyle Mullen followed with a power play goal (Shane Mergen assist), and Tarsi connected for his second goal to give the Hatters a 6-0 lead before UD’s Ari Nordlinger connected on a shorthanded goal. Tarsi and Tarek Elsbbagh each added goals to close out the period.
In the third period, Howieson and Ben Heywood both found the net to give the Hatters a 10-1 lead before UD’s Chris Barbera scored to break the Hatters’ run. Lerner and UD’s Oren Serafin exchanged goals in the closing minutes.
Joe Gambino turned away 26 of 27 shots to earn the win in goal for the Hatters.

The Golden Hawks and Panthers were deadlocked 1-1 after one period, but the final two periods belonged to the Golden Hawks, who reeled off five unanswered goals to close out the game.
In the first period, Rock South’s Logan Hurwitz (David Mueller assist) and Tennent’s David Gray (Bobby Markus assist) exchanged goals. Bill Harrelson’s goal with an assist from Kyle Schneider 12:16 into the second period gave the Golden Hawks a lead they would not lose. David Vergules (Julian Wagenmann assist) and Andy Stoychev (Hurwitz and Brennen Wright assists) added goals in the final minutes of the period to give Rock South a 4-1 lead.
Hurwitz (Andy Stoychev assist) and Wagenmann (Kenny Duffield assist) each found the net in the final period for the 6-1 final.
Rock South goalie Alex Patrizi turned away 26 of 27 shots in a winning effort.

The Indians took a 2-1 lead into a second period that saw the Bucks answer with a pair of goals that ignited a 4-0 West tear to close out the game.
Jake Lang opened the scoring just under five minutes into the opening period to give the Bucks a 1-0 lead, using assists from Christopher Trefz and Pavel Serhiayenka. The Indians answered with goals by Chris Lindsay (Gabe Washel assist) and John Gray (Tyler McPhee and David Murphy assists).
Lang (Ben Morris assist) evened the score 2-2 with a goal 5:52 into the second period, and Trefz found the net late in the period, using a Lang assist to give the Bucks a 3-2 lead. Owen Shields (Daniel Poliak assist) and Serhiayenka (Trefz assist) added insurance goals in the final period.
Nicholas Ritz was credited with the win in goal, turning away 29 of 31 shots. Jonathan Pritchard recorded 42 saves in the loss.

Four-point nights by Adam Bostock (three goals, one assist) and Coleman Peppelman (two goals, two assists) led the Lions to the win in a high-scoring contest. Vincenzo DeMaio added a hat trick. Jake Weikel’s five-point night (one goal, four assists) led the Colonials while Luke Weikel added a hat trick.
PW got on the scoreboard first when Peter Troy connected 2:49 into the contest, using a Jake Weikel assist. The Lions answered with three straight goals, including a pair of DeMaio goals sandwiched around a goal by Adam Bostock. PW’s Luke Weikel and Lower Moreland’s Bostock exchanged goals to close out the period, and the Lions led 4-2.
Both teams scored a pair of goals in the second period. Peppelman and DeMaio accounted for Lower Moreland’s goals. Jake and Luke Weikel each had a goal for the Colonials, who trailed 6-4 after two periods.
The Colonials led 7-4 after a goal by Peppelman 3:22 into the final period, but the Colonials answered with back-to-back goals by Luke Weikel and Colin Franzoni to make it a 7-6 game. Tyler Scolnick gave the Lions some insurance when he scored at the 6:42 mark, and a Bostock goal put the Lions on top 9-6 before Benjamin Lubas found the net in the game’s final minute.
Lower Moreland goalie Jacob Lungin recorded 28 saves in a winning effort.

Thomas Gallagher dished out five assists, and Joey Matteo had a four-point night with two goals and two assists to lead the Redskins to the convincing win.
The Redskins led by just a 1-0 score after one period, thanks to a Charles Potash goal in the closing minutes of the period. The second period was another story entirely as the ‘Skins reeled off four unanswered goals.
DeMatteo turned a Trevor Kuhn pass into a goal 4:17 into the period, and three minutes later Jacob Helms found the net to put the Redskins on top 3-0. DeMatteo and Gallagher assisted on the goal. Another Helms goal, this one with a DeMatteo assist, made it a 4-0 game, and the Redskins had a five-goal cushion after DeMatteo (Gallagher/Helms assists) scored late in the period.
Before two minutes had elapsed in the final period, Brian McGrody and Joey Buday each scored a goal – both with Gallagher assists. Gallagher notched his fifth helper of the game when he found McGrody for a goal that put the Redskins on top 8-0. Zach McNamee also assisted. Ryan McColgan’s unassisted goal closed out the scoring for the Redskins. The Indians broke up their shutout big when Richard Sichel (Trevor Zemzik assist) scored at the 13:33 mark of the period.
The Redskins held a 59-21 advantage in shots, but Rock North goalie Rex Goldberg kept his team in it with a 50-save effort. Brian Nelson recorded 20 saves in goal for the Redskins in a winning effort.

John Gray’s seven-point night (three goals, four assists) led Souderton to the non-league win. Thomas Harris (four goals, one assist) also came up big, contributing a five-point night. Adding single goals were Kyle Anderson, Gabe Washel and Jacob Bealer.
For Rock North, Colin Kiefer had two goals and an assist while Michael Janora and Rex Fowler both added single goals.
Souderton led 3-1 after one period and took a 7-3 lead into the final period that saw the two teams exchange goals.
Jonathan Pritchard earned the win in goal, recording 16 saves.

Games don’t get much more even than this one that saw the Hatters and Colonials both score seven goals on 19 shots.
The Hatters led 3-2 after one period only to watch Colonials knot things up 5-5 after two periods. The two teams exchanged goals in the final period.
Aidan Keogh’s five-point night (two goals, three assists) led the Colonials. Jake Weikel had two goals and one assist while Luke Weikel had a goal and an assist. Adding single goals were Gavin Mulligan and Thomas Corcoran.
For the Hatters, Seth Lerner and Sayvion Jones both had a pair of goals while Ben Lerner, Jordan Gillis and Alex Howieson each contributed a goal and an assist.
