CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 13, PENNSBURY 10
The visiting Patriots trailed 7-6 at halftime but held the Falcons to just three goals in the second half to earn the important conference win. The win came on the heels of an impressive 17-5 win over Central Bucks South on Monday.
“This was huge for us,” East coach Jordan Sanocki said. “Pennsbury is a very good team.
“We have so many strong individual players, and the biggest thing we’re working on is fusing that into one whole unit and making the whole team strong and really working together instead of playing as individuals, which really came out in the South game on Monday and really showed up today.
“They’re really starting to understand that they have to play together as a team. It’s not just one person or two people. We were coming off some really tough losses. We’ve had a lot of games where we come off the field and say, ‘We should have or we could have.’ The past two games we’ve been able to come off the field saying we gave 110 percent, we played a complete game start to finish.”
The Falcons jumped out to an early 5-3 lead.
“They scored five really quick goals in the first 10 minutes,” Sanocki said. “We called a timeout, we made some personnel adjustments, and we really started focusing on one thing at a time.
“We have such a young team this year, so many new girls coming in. We only have three seniors, so we get a lot of that young nervousness with not being patient on the ball.”
The Falcons outscored their hosts 10-5 after falling behind early.
“The name of the game for us today was possession, slowing the ball down, maintaining possession, working the ball around until we had a clear drive to cage and not forcing sloppy passes,” Sanocki said. “We were able to hold the ball pretty much the entire second half, just maintaining possession. They did really well on defense trying to double team and slide. We were just able to get a step ahead.”
Sanocki lauded the efforts of her defense – Ava Lisle, Quinn Ferry, Morgan Eater and Grace Bethke.
“The defense worked so hard today,” Sanocki said. “Their slides were quick, they were marking up, not getting beat 1v1. They really had a solid day today with communication to ensure the ball got back to the midfield and offensive side.”
Brigitte Bishop and Riley Forman scored five goals each to lead the Patriots. Bishop also had four draw controls and two ground balls while Forman had two ground balls and one caused turnover. Adding one goal each were Quinn Ferry (two assists, one draw control, one ground ball), Courtney Mackenzie (one assist, one draw control, two ground balls, one caused turnover) and Katie Volans (two ground balls, one caused turnover).
Ava Lisle scooped up three ground balls and had one caused turnover, and Katie Powell had one assist, four draw controls, four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Morgan Eater contributed one ground ball and one caused turnover.
Goalie Fiona Henderson recorded five saves in the win.
The Patriots, according to Sanocki, have been dealing with injuries to key players.
“We lost Quinn Ferry, we lost Katie Powell in the middle of the season, so we’re just getting them back,” the Patriots’ coach said. “Quinn is really capitalizing and controlling the midfield from attack to defense to the draw. She’s huge for us as well as Katie Powell, who takes the draws and does phenomenal. I’m glad to have them coming back and trying to finish the season strong.”
Pennsbury’s Maggie Golder had a game high eight draws.
Central Bucks East (10-6, 5-1 SOL) will host Central Bucks West on Monday, and Pennsbury (11-3, 4-3) will travel to Jenkintown for a non-league game Friday.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 18, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 7
The Bucks joined forces with Council Rock North to honor Ken Breithaupt, who- along with his daughter - has been active for years in girls’ lacrosse.
“Many of our players know coach Ken and were happy that Council Rock North invited our team to be part of this day,” West coach Rebecca Cartee Haring said. “His support of girls’ lacrosse helped many of our players become interested in the game. He was active in the sport not just for his daughter but for all the girls.”
Casey Reichwein turned in another dominant performance, scoring eight goals and winning 12 draws. Emma Haring also had a big game with four goals, three draw controls and one assist.
“Kristen Rice had a great day on the re-defend with four caused turnovers and two assists,” Cartee Haring said.
Lindsey Horton had three draw controls, and Shelby Hahn had two draw controls and two goals. Julia Carey had two goals and two assists, and Paige Gilbert had a pair of goals.
For the Indians, Chloe Ondria had three goals and one assist while Grace Vliet had a pair of goals. Rebecca Ripans and Maggie Huebeck each had one goal. Lucy Breithaupt had a pair of assists while Emily Booth had one assist.
Central Bucks West (10-4, 6-0 SOL) will host Bensalem in a non-league game Thursday, and Council Rock North (1-12, 0-6) will travel to Wissahickon for a non-league game Thursday.
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 14, NESHAMINY 4
The Titans bounced back from Monday’s loss to Central Bucks East with a convincing win over the Redskins, opening up an 8-3 halftime lead and never looking back.
Francine Richick led the charge with six goals and two assists. Anna Green had three goals and three assists while Janessa Watson had two goals and one assist. Bridget Curtis had one goal and two assists. Tegan Mullan and Kate Victor both had one goal and one assist.
Goalie Katelyn Wendling had eight saves.
For the Redskins, Mackenzie Foster had two goals.
Central Bucks South (8-5, 3-3 SOL) will host Chichester in a non-league game Friday, and Neshaminy (4-9, 0-6) will host St. Hubert’s in a non-league game on Thursday.

In a showdown between the conference’s lone unbeaten teams, it was the Ghosts coming out of the gate strong. They opened up a 4-0 lead and took a 6-4 advantage into halftime on their way to the convincing win, ensuring that Abington’s 13 seniors would have a Senior Night to remember.
“Upper Moreland definitely looked to come back to give us a little scare, but the girls really pulled through and were able to get that lead going,” Abington coach Mary Elizabeth Klepper said. “It was a really special game for us being Senior Night.
“Our shots were on, and we really possessed the ball. Upper Moreland was pressuring a lot, and they knew our plays, but we were still able to come up with the shots. I was ready for it to be a one- or two-goal game. Upper Moreland just beat Wissahickon on Monday, and we were definitely ready for them.
“Sometimes when you have Senior Night, you never know how it’s going to go because of the distractions, but they came together, they played together, and they won as a team. It was a really, really good win for us.”
The unsung heroes in the win were the Ghosts’ defenders.
“Anna Joseph and Sam Raymond have been really strong on our defense – they’re kind of our speed demons,” Klepper said. “They will swarm the ball, they will get possession and run it down the field. They both had a really good game.
“But honestly, our defense is just a good team right now, and all four of them – Anna Joseph, Sam Raymond, Ella Timbers and Jill Poppert - work together with our middies, and with Ellie (Hughes) in goal, they are on it right now.”
Hughes finished the game with 10 saves.
Abby Thomas led the Ghosts’ attack with five goals while Jamira Mashore had two goals and two assists. Maddie Hinkle added three goals. Kaley Ehnow and Abby Johnson both contributed one goal and one assist. Grace Hinkle had one goal.
“We have a lot of good talent on our team, but the fact that we are able to come together and everyone shows up to play is what is really setting us apart right now,” Klepper said. “The girls that don’t play every game – they are such good team players, and they’re there because they want to be there. They worked so hard throughout their careers and throughout junior varsity, and they deserve to be on the varsity squad.
“Our bench players show up, and even though they might not get in every game, they know their roles, and they’re there for everyone.”
For the Golden Bears, Moira Olexa had two goals and one assist while Emma Meakim had two goals. Cassidy Hirsch had one goal and three assists. Bryanna Gordon contributed one goal.
Sarah Pickard was credited with six saves.
“It was a hard fought game by both teams,” UM coach Kim Frantz said. “Abington played a great game.
“We never could really get ahead and always seemed to be playing catch-up score-wise. We fought hard to the last minute even when the score was 11-6. I am proud of our team and we are better for playoffs after this game.”
Abington (12-2, 6-0 SOL) will host Plymouth Whitemarsh on Friday, and Upper Moreland (11-3, 6-1) will travel to Pennridge on Friday night.

HATBORO-HORSHAM 8, SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP 7
Defense was the name of the game in a second half that saw the two teams combine for three goals after battling to a 6-6 halftime tie. The Hatters – playing their third night game in as many nights this week - trailed 5-3 midway through the first half but limited the Spartans to just two goals the rest of the way.
Senior Megan Acker made some key defensive plays, including taking a charge to force a Spartan turnover. Hatter goalie Arielle Hammer also made some key saves in the second half while the offense was able to maintain possession and score a pair of goals in the second half.
The midfield of juniors Gabrielle Liott and Cam Ryan as well as freshman Sophia Liott dominated the draw, winning 10 of 15 draws.
Cam Ryan led the attack with four goals while Audrey Leibfreid had two goals. Gabrielle Liott had one goal and two assists, and Abby Roesing had one goal.
For the Spartans, Maddie Yoder led the attack with three goals, one draw control and two ground balls. Emily Smith had two goals and one draw control. Adding one goal were Emily Walsh and Ella Marino (one assist, three draw controls, two ground balls). Sophia Perry had two assists and one ground ball.
Molly McGoldrick’s five ground balls and four caused turnovers led the Spartans. Jaden Callands also had five ground balls while Lauren Corrado had two ground balls. Julie Kelly had one ground ball and one caused turnover. Spartan goalie Annie Ryan had eight saves.
Hatboro-Horsham (9-5, 4-3 SOL) will host North Penn on Friday, and Springfield Township (6-7, 1-6) will host Jenkintown in a non-league game Thursday.

MaxLeszczynski scored five goals to lead a balanced Colonial attack in Wednesday’s conference win. Raquel Baskin and Lexi Petrakis each added a hat trick while Callie Kolkka added a pair of goals. Contributing one goal each were Kennedy Reardon, Natalie Lannie and Fiona Goonerante.
For the Panthers, Cassidy O’Donnell and Bailey Roman each had a goal.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (4-9, 2-4 SOL) will travel to Abington on Friday, and Quakertown (3-11, 1-6) will be on the road at Allentown Central Catholic on Thursday.
WISSAHICKON 23, CHELTENHAM 4
The Trojans celebrated Senior Night with the decisive win. Ten Trojan players scored goals. Naomi Bram had three goals and one assist. Isabella Ferrante, Maggie Wurzbach, Emma Hubbs, Brooke Berry and Paige Zimmerman all had two goals. Anna Schools and Abby Brown both had one goal.
Wissahickon (10-4, 5-2 SOL) will host Council Rock North in a non-league game on Thursday. Cheltenham (0-8, 0-7) will host Plymouth Whitemarsh on Monday.
