On Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019, Central Bucks South senior Tomer Khayt was recognized for committing to continue his swimming career at West Chester University.
Tomer Khayt – West Chester University (Swimming)
Major: Accounting/Business
Final list of colleges: West Chester, Delaware
Reasons for choosing West Chester: “I really liked the swim program, the campus is really nice, and it just fit me well. I really enjoyed the team there.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in swimming at the collegiate level? “I’ve been swimming since about age seven. My brother swam for Drexel University, and as I grew up, my goal always was to swim in college just like him.”
Coach Kevin Whelan says: “Tom was a captain this year and the leading point scorer on our team as a junior and senior. He is an extremely hard worker in the pool. His work ethic is matched by no one, and the results are seen with the fast times that he has and the success he’s had at the end of the season. I’m proud to see how far he’s gotten, and I’m proud to see him getting to the next level and being able to swim collegiately at West Chester University. I couldn’t be happier for him. He’s certainly earned everything he’s gotten.”
