CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1 (25-16, 29-27, 19-25, 25-22)

The Titans earned a hard fought win over their sister school. They were led at the net by senior middle Allie Burke (nine kills, three blocks), junior outside hitter Courtney Pohl (10 kills, two aces, two blocks, four digs) and sophomore outside hitter Millie Grove (11 kills, two aces, one block, five digs). Senior setter Lizzie Shirley had 34 assists, 11 digs and three aces. Senior libero McKenna Clow added 12 digs and one kill.

For the Bucks, Jada Reichwein and Sara Tartaglia each had 11 kills. Reichwein also had an ace and five digs while Tartaglia added a pair of digs. Magda Videva contributed eight kills, one ace and three blocks. Setter Ana Claricurzio had 34 assists, two kills and 12 digs.  Maggie Winderman had a big night defensively, finishing with 22 digs. Naomi Woo (five kills, three blocks, two digs) and Brie Livezey (four kills) also made contributions.

 

PENNSBURY 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-12)
A veteran Falcons’ squad earned a sweep of the young Panthers.

Elley Torres (16 kills, .314 hitting percentage) and Izzy Marinelli (12 kills) had big performances at the net. Torres also had one ace and three digs. Mary Miller and Brooke Burns both added four kills. Burns also had two aces, three digs as well as three blocks. Carissa Van Veen handed out 31 assists to go along with three aces and six digs. Ashley Parry led the Falcons defensively with 15 digs while Abbie Drews had 10 digs.

The Panthers combined for 39 digs with 18 of them coming from senior libero Chiara Ciccone.

“The girls did a very good job defensively hanging in there against a very impressive offensive attack from Pennsbury,” Tennent coach Brian Bassler said. “It is never a good thing to lose 3-0, but after the way we played Friday night, tonight was very encouraging. The girls really responded and got the defense back to where it should be.”

 

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, NESHAMINY 0 (25-9, 25-18, 25-21)

The Patriots received contributions up and down their lineup in their sweep of the Redskins.

“This was a nice team win where we got contributions from everyone on the team,” East coach Kerri Rabberman said.

Setter Anna Ritter was credited with 14 assists, one ace and two kills. Ava Napoletano finished with a team-high nine kills. Anna Huchko added four kills and two blocks while Vivien Agassi had five kills, five digs and one ace. Morgan D’Angelo’s 14 digs led the defense. Abby Killough added nine digs. Maddy Lacouture contributed four aces, three kills, three blocks and four digs. Chloe Mettille led the Patriots’ service game with six aces and three digs.  Also making contributions were Camille Larson (two kills, two digs), Caroline Eldringhoff (three kills), Sophia Mettille (seven assists, one dig) and Kaylynn Bryan (one ace, four kills and three digs).

 

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3, BENSALEM 0
The Golden Hawks earned a sweep of the visiting Owls. Lauren Dougherty tallied seven blocks while Arianna Ranieri and Katie Rodman both had strong passing performances.

For the Owls, libero Emma LoStracco had eight digs in a strong defensive outing. Dejah Howe (three kills, one ace) also continued to play well for the Owls, according to coach Tim Linehan.

 

UPPER DUBLIN 3, SOUDERTON 2 (20-25, 25-19, 25-21, 19-25, 15-7)

The Cardinals earned the hard fought win in a classic five-set match.

“It was a marathon type match with contributions coming from everyone,” UD coach Paul Choi said. “A strong defensive effort led to a great team win. I’m very proud of the team.”

Setter Sarah Randall was credited with 41 assists to go along with three aces, three kills and 12 digs while Lauren Price had 12 assists and four digs. Leading the Cardinals at the net were Kara Grebe (13 kills, one block), Shannon Yost  (13 kills, three aces, one assist, 14 digs), Charlotte Qi (12 kills, 13 digs, two aces) and Emily Senior (11 kills, four digs). Anna Faust led the defense with 24 digs to go along with four aces and four assists. Maggie Faust added 13 digs, one kill and one ace. Casey Broderick (five kills, four digs) and Alieen Kohlbrenner (three digs) also contributed.

For the Indians, senior setter Maya Hanson had a big night, handing out 44 assists and contributing 19 digs. Senior Hana Ekecs led the defense with 23 digs to go along with one ace. The Indians received double-digit kills from sophomore Alyssa Reiner (13), junior Liv Horas (11) and senior Amelia Hanson (10). Reiner also had two aces and seven digs while Horas had six digs and one blocks and Hanson added 11 digs and one ace. Junior Maddy McCarthy contributed seven kills and three blocks. Junior Grace Peterson (one ace, seven digs) and junior Amanda Swan-Geiger (three kills) also contributed. 

 

HATBORO-HORSHAM 3, NORTH PENN 0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-20)

Hatboro-Horsham will travel to Plymouth Whitemarsh on Friday night.

 

CHELTENHAM 3, QUAKERTOWN 0 (25-23, 25-21, 26-24)

Tuesday, Sept 3

HATBORO-HORSHAM 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 0 (25-23, 25-13, 25-15)

The Hatters rolled to a sweep of the visiting Bucks. Leading the offense was senior outside hitter Cam Wild and senior opposite hitter Jule Gibbons with six kills each while senior middle hitter Rickelle Wescott added four to the mix. Wild also had a great night at the service line with seven aces complemented by both Jule Gibbons and junior setter Maddy Murphy adding two each. Junior Libero Jess Howard anchored the defense with 16 digs with junior DS Jenna Robinson and Jule Gibbons adding six and five digs respectively. Maddy Murphy ran the offense with 18 assists on the day. 

For the Bucks, setter Ana Claricurzio had 13 assists and one blocks. Jada Reichwein had five kills and one ace. Naomi Woo and Sara Tartaglia each had three kills. Woo also had one block. Maggie Winderman contributed five digs.

 

PENNRIDGE 3, NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY

The Rams, who improved to 2-0, turned in a strong team performance in their sweep of the visiting Lions. Pennridge was led by junior outside hitter Lydia Stutzman, who had nine kills and two blocks. Junior outside/opposite hitter Izzie Cooper chipped in with five kills. Senior Emma Tirjan contributed to the victory with three kills and five aces.
