CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 2 (25-27, 29-31, 25-20, 25-18, 15-10)

The Bucks won a grueling match with the Golden Hawks.

Finishing with double-digit kills for the Bucks were Jada Reichwein (15 kills, 12 digs) and Sarah Tartaglia (11 kills, six digs). Magda Videva added seven kills and five digs while Maggie McCusker had six kills, four aces and 20 digs. Setter Ana Claricurzio had 45 assists, one ace, five kills and 12 digs. Naomi Woo added four kills and one block. Maggie Winderman had a busy match keeping the ball off the floor, finishing with 31 digs and one ace.

 

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 2

The Indians eked out a win in a classic battle with the Titans. Sophomore Ashleigh Adams (15 kills, 15 digs, five blocks) and junior Mary Baniewicz (13 kills, 15 digs, two aces) both had big nights, finishing with double-doubles. Juniors Sabrina Pasemann and Cora Lake also had huge matches. Lake finished with eight kills, four digs and three blocks while Pasemann had six blocks, two kills and two digs. Junior Mikayla Adams, according to coach Mike Adams, also had a fantastic match with 17 digs, six assists and three aces. Junior Julia Walton had six kills, three blocks and four digs, and senior Abby Jones added four blocks, three kills and one dig. Kylie Tinner and Sydney White combined for 39 assists, eight kills and nine digs. Tinner also had three aces for the Indians, who improved to 5-0.

 

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, BENSALEM 0 (25-6, 25-18, 25-12)

The Patriots received contributions up and down their lineup in their sweep of the Owls.

“This was a true team effort tonight,” East coach Kerri Rabberman said. “There was a contribution from everyone.”

Setter Anna Ritter had 15 assists, two aces and two kills while Sophia Mattille had seven assists, three aces and three digs. Vivien Agassi led a balanced attack with seven kills and a dazzling .700 hitting percentage. She also had one ace. Ava Napoletano added five kills. Also contributing for the Patriots were Abby Killough (six digs), Anna Huchko (two kills), Camille Larson (three kills), Caroline Eldringhoff (one kill), Chloe Mettille (one ace, two digs), Kaylynn Bryan (three aces, three kills), Maddy Lacouture (two aces, two kills, three digs), Morgan D’Angelo (two aces, six digs) and Olivia Bennett (two kills).

For the Owls, Sydney Bawuah continued her strong play with five kills and eight digs. Emma LoStracco (seven digs, two aces) also played well for the Owls.

 

NESHAMINY 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 2

The Redskins won the first two sets only to watch the resilient Panthers rally to knot the match at two games apiece. The Redskins won the fifth and deciding set.

“We couldn’t complete the comeback,” Tennent coach Brian Bassler said. “We were just far too inconsistent to win the match.”
For the Panthers, Makenzie Clee had 10 kills and six digs. Setter Julia Booz had 18 assists. Chiara Ciccone had 16 digs, and Christina Sienkiewicz had eight digs and six aces.

 

SOL Continental

 

PENNRIDGE 3, HATBORO-HORSHAM 1

The Rams pulled off the big win over perennial SOL powerhouse Hatboro-Horsham, defeating the defending conference co-champions in four sets despite dominant efforts from the Hatters' Cam Wild and libero Jess Howard.

It took a complete team effort to earn the big win. Leading the Rams in crucial moments was senior setter Kara Allelunas. The Rams' offense was led by junior Lydia Stutzman with 11 kills. Defenders Katherine DeYesso, Rileigh Bowen, Allison Saalfrank, Alexa Allelunas and Morgan Leo, according to coach Brandon Johnson, were all vital to the team's win.

Pennridge - now alone atop the conference standings - will host Abington at home on Friday.

 

UPPER DUBLIN 3, QUAKERTOWN 0
The Flying Cardinals used a team effort to earn a sweep of the Panthers.

Setter Lauren Price had 17 assists, five aces, one kill and four digs. Leading a balanced attack were Jackie Rama (five kills, one block), Sarah Randall (five kills, two aces, two assists, four digs), Alexa Jakubowitz (four kills, one dig) and Casey Broderick (four kills, one dig). Anna Faust had a big night at the service line, leading the Cardinals with seven aces and 11 digs to go along with three assists. Maggie Faust had four aces, one kill and three digs. Aileen Kohlbrenner (one ace, three digs) and Jackie Gorman (two kills, two digs) also contributed.

 

SOUDERTON 3, WISSAHICKON 2 (25-19, 23-25, 21-25, 25-14, 15-12)

The Indians needed five sets to defeat the pesky Trojans. Alyssa Reiner led the Indians’ attack with 18 kills to go along with four aces and five digs. Liz Horas contributed 10 kills and one dig while Amelia Hanson added nine kills, two aces and five digs. Hana Ekecs led the defense with 28 digs. Maya Hanson and Maddy McCarthy both had four aces. Hanson also had three kills and seven digs, and McCarthy had four kills and two digs.

 

ABINGTON 3, CHELTENHAM 0  (25-13, 25-12, 25-13)

 

Tuesday, Sept 10

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, BENSALEM 0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-9)

The Bucks rolled to a sweep of the Owls on Tuesday. Jada Reichwein had four kills, five aces and seven digs. Setter Ana Claricurzio had 15 assists and five aces. Maggie Winderman had 10 digs and four aces while Maggie McCusker had three kills, three aces, one block and two digs. Magda Videva chipped in with five kills while Naomi Wood had three kills and one block.

For the Owls, Sydney Bawuah (five kills, seven digs, one assist), Crystal Dang (eight assists) and Emma LoStracco (nine digs) played well for the Owls.
