SOL National Conference
WILLIAM TENNENT 3, BENSALEM 1 (25-16, 23-25, 25-11, 25-14)
The visiting Panthers earned a four-set win over the Owls.
“Bensalem has made some really nice strides, and hats off to their girls today,” Tennent coach Brian Bassler said.
Libero Chiara Ciccone, according to Bassler, fought through an illness to record a team high five aces and seven digs. Julia Booz had 14 assists, and Grace Marsland led the team in kills with eight.
For the Owls, Sydney Bawuah led the way with 10 kills. Maddie Buechner (five kills, two aces), Ameerah Thomas (four kills, four aces) and Crystal Dan (19 assists) also played well.
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 0
Maggie Winderman reached a personal milestone for the Bucks, surpassing the 1,000 career dig mark. She finished the night with 11 digs and one kill.
Junior libero Mikayla Adams led the Indians in their sweep of the Bucks, finishing with 15 digs and six assists. Coming up big at the net were Ashleigh Adams (11 kills, six digs, two aces, two assists), Mary Baniewicz (10 kills, five digs, one ace) and Julia Walton (seven kills, one block, three digs, two aces). Kylie Tinner added three kills, nine digs, six assists and one ace, and Cora Lake added three kills and two blocks. Setter Sydney White led the team with 17 assists and five digs. Sabrina Pasemann had two kills and three blocks.
For the Bucks. Naomi Woo and Sarah Tartaglia both had six kills and one block while Magda Videva added five kills, one block and two aces. Setter Ana Claricurzio had 19 assists, two aces, seven digs and one block, and Jada Reichwein had three kills, one ace and six digs.
Rock North will face Neshaminy on Thursday and Pennsbury on Monday in a key conference battle.
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, NESHAMINY 0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-15)
The Titans rolled to a sweep of the Redskins.
Senior setter Lizzie Shirley led the Titans with 38 assists, three aces and four digs. Sophomore outside hitter Millie Grove led the attack with 14 kills, six digs and two aces while senior middle Allie Burke had nine kills and two blocks. Senior libero McKenna Clow had 11 digs. Senior middle Carly Carroll added five kills, and senior defensive specialist Ashley Scott had two kills and seven digs.
SOL Continental Conference
PENNRIDGE 3, NORTH PENN 1
The Lady Rams defeated a tough North Penn squad in four sets.
Senior middle blocker Emma Tirjan helped lead the Rams, contributing eight kills and hitting .438 overall. Outside hitter Lydia Stutzman had a big night with 12 kills. Senior setter Kara Allelunas was once again key to the victory with 43 assists, nine digs and three aces. Senior libero Katherine DeYesso also contributed 13 digs and five aces.
UPPER DUBLIN 3, ABINGTON 0
The Flying Cardinals used a balanced attack to earn a sweep of the Ghosts.
Anna Faust led the defense with 25 digs and also had seven aces, one kill and two assists. Setter Sarah Randall had 22 assists, four kills, two aces and four digs, and Sharon Yoast had seven kills, eight digs and one ace. Also contributing were Casey Broderick (three kills, one block, two digs), Charlotte Qi (two aces, four kills, one assists, seven digs), Jackie Rama (five kills), Lauren Price (one ace, one kill, six assists, three digs), Maggie Faust (two aces, two kills, one assists, six digs) and Sophia Sabri (three kills, two blocks, two digs.
PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3, SOUDERTON 1 (25-23, 25-22, 20-25, 25-19)
The Colonials earned the four-set win over the pesky Indians.
For the Indians, Alyssa Reiner (12 kills, six digs), Amelia Hanson (nine kills, one ace, eight digs) and Liv Horas (seven kills, one dig( led the attack. Hana Ekecs had 23 digs, three assists and one kill. Setter Maya Hanson had 27 assists, four aces, one kill and eight digs. Christy Mack had five digs.
