Sterling Limo Player of the Week
Brian Dresnin, Plymouth Whitemarsh – The senior running back had a career night in 11th-seeded Plymouth Whitemarsh’s 56-42 upset of sixth-seeded Abington, finishing with 304 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 27 carries. For the season, Dresnin has 1,356 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns on 368 carries, averaging 9.8 yards a carry and 135.6 yards per game.
Coach Dan Chang says: “Brian is the workhorse of our offense. He runs hard downhill and breaks tackles. He has gotten so much better since last year mainly due to his work ethic, which is second to none. This guy never stops working, and it has really paid off this year. He worked on his areas of improvement from last year and is such a better runner because of it.”
Sterling Limo Offensive Players of the Week
Evan Spann, North Penn – The senior running back/strong safety was a difference maker on both sides of the football in ninth-seeded North
Penn’s 35-7 win over eighth-seeded Central Bucks South. Spann ran for 118 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries and also had a reception for 13 yards. He also had four tackles on defense in a contest that saw the Titans manage less than 150 total yards of offense.
Coach Dick Beck says: “Against Pennsbury, he turned his ankle pretty good, and I don’t think he was 100 percent until the William Tennent game. He sat out four games, and his first game was against Souderton. He was just going one way on offense and limping around. We played CB West, and he went one way. Then we played CB South and he tried to go both ways but was not 100 percent. Last week he played a great defensive game, and offensively, he carried the ball 13 times for 118 yards and had a touchdown. He made some big plays running the ball and had a couple of long runs. He had a big catch on a third down that was a huge play for us. It’s good to have him back at 100 percent.”
Josh Jackson, Central Bucks West – The senior running back is healthy and contributing after battling injuries, and he was another weapon in Central Bucks West’s 42-7 rout of Ridley, finishing with 131 yards and three touchdowns on just 11 carries.
Coach Rob Rowan says: “Josh is a hardworking young man who is finding his stride at the right time. He’s an added weapon that allows our offense to see its full capacity.”
Sterling Limo Defensive Players of the Week
Central Bucks West Defense – The Bucks’ starting defense forced four turnovers and allowed less than a hundred yards total offense in an overpowering effort before exiting in Central Bucks West’s 42-7 rout of Ridley.
Coach Rob Rowan says: “Defensively, we forced four turnovers and held them to under 100 yards of offense. In order for that to happen, guys have to be playing with unbelievable effort, energy, and execution. Pete Santacellia stood out with two tackles for loss and two quarterback hurries. Jack Neri and Donte Manini had very timely interceptions.”
Dai-Jahn Dukes, Upper Moreland – The senior linebacker turned in a monster defensive performance in fourth-seeded Upper Moreland’s 37-
14 win over top-seeded Springfield Township in Friday’s opening round game. Dukes led the Golden Bears with 10 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions.
Coach CJ Szydlik says: “Dai-Jahn had the game of a lifetime on Saturday night, but we weren't all that surprised by it. He's been man on a mission the past few weeks.”
Jon-Marc Foreman, Cheltenham – The senior linebacker led a stingy Panthers’ defense with nine tackles and also had a pair of receptions in Cheltenham’s 41-7 win over Springfield-Delco.
Coach Ryan Nase says: "Jon-Marc uses his speed and athleticism to make plays on both sides of the ball. He has a non-stop motor and plays almost every play on offense, defense and special teams."
Sterling Limo SOL honor roll:
Tamir Berthau, Abington – Berthau became the first Abington quarterback to throw and rush for a thousand yards. In Abington’s 56-42 loss to Plymouth Whitemarsh, the senior quarterback threw for 249 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 74 yards and a touchdown.
Brad Mickles & JayVon McNeill, Pennsbury – The running back duo combined for 295 rushing yards and four touchdowns in Pennsbury’s 63-35 loss to top-seeded Downingtown West. McNeill had 153 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries, and Mickles had 142 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries.
Khalani Eaton, North Penn – The sophomore running back had 151 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries in North Penn’s 35-7 win over Central Bucks South.
Jack Fallon, Central Bucks West – The senior running back had 106 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries in Central Bucks West’s 49-7 win over Ridley.
Byron Hopkins, Upper Moreland – The sophomore quarterback ran for 216 yards and three touchdowns in fourth-seeded Upper Moreland’s 37-14 win over top-seeded Springfield Township in the District One 4A opener.
Adonis Hunter, Cheltenham – The senior quarterback completed 9-of-14 passes for 124 yards and a touchdown and also ran for 92 yards and a TD in Cheltenham’s 41-7 win over Springfield-Delco.
Michael Paciello, Plymouth Whitemarsh – The senior running back had 122 yards and three touchdowns on just four carries in Plymouth Whitemarsh’s 56-42 win over Abington, averaging 30.5 yards per carry.
