Major: Nursing
Final list of colleges: La Salle, Quinnipiac, Lehigh, Monmouth
Reasons for choosing La Salle: “I chose La Salle because they have a really good nursing program, and they allow me to major in nursing and play hockey.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in field hockey at the collegiate level? “I played CYO, and I realized I wanted to play at the next level where everyone was at a high level of play. I thought college would be perfect for me to have everyone as eager about the sport as I am.”
Coach Katie Small says: “There are no words that truly describe what Paige brought to the field hockey team and Abington. The three years that I’ve had were the best years that Abington’s had in over 20 years. She was the backbone since she was a sophomore. I didn’t have her as a freshman, but she was a standout that year too. She’s leaving a legacy. She’s the leading point getter in Abington history with 98 points, and she also is the career assist leader for Abington, so she’s definitely leaving a legacy that’s going to be hard to fill.
“She’s a team leader on the field and off the field. The way she went was the way the team went. The team looked to her to be lifted up and to be carried at times. She carried them her sophomore, junior and senior year. On the field, her strengths were definitely controlling the center of the field. She grew as a player, especially this past year. She really developed her defense as well as her stick skills, and she became a more dominant and complete player this past year.”
