Chrissy Huhn – Molloy College (Softball)
Major: Nursing
Final list of colleges: Molloy, Binghamton, Nyack
Reasons for choosing Molloy: “I went with Molloy because they had my major, and it’s hard to do both nursing and soccer, so I decided to go D-II with the major. It’s also close to home but not too close.”
What was the progression that led you to playing softball at the collegiate level? “Ever since I started travel softball when I was nine, it was always the goal to play softball in college and to make it to that level. When I played for my travel gold team in ninth grade – Philadelphia Spirit, it was like, ‘Oh my god, it’s actually happening.”
Coach Rick Palmer says: “She’s a great kid and a team leader. She’s highly athletic, and she has a never-quit attitude. She has a plus arm and great speed at shortstop - she covers everything. She sets the table as the leadoff hitter, she hits with power and is also able to slap. She’s going to be a four-year player, and she’s got all the tools.”
