On Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, Central Bucks West senior Grace Miller was recognized for committing to continue her soccer career at Cairn University.
Grace Miller – Cairn University (Soccer)
Major: Elementary Education
Final list of colleges: Cairn, Eastern, Millersville
Reasons for choosing Cairn: “I chose Cairn because when I went to the campus open house, I got to meet the soccer team. We had lunch with them, and I loved them.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level? “My club team started playing showcases when I started high school, and people started reaching out to me. It was kind of a natural progression.”
Coach Mike Moyer says: “Gracie is a player that understands the game and knows her role. She was so dangerous at outside left back because she was left footed and loved to get involved in the offense, and she could serve dangerous balls in the box anywhere on the offensive side of the field. She also scored a couple great goals for us on balls that came out off a restart that she hit one time from 25 yards out.
“Not only was she a great soccer player she is a great person and teammate. She received the Coaches Award at this year’s banquet. Cairn University is not only getting a great soccer player, they’re getting a fantastic person off the field as well.”
