“It was good to get a road win after two losses. The girls deserve credit for executing some things we emphasized in film and practice and for recovering from a sluggish start to create a nice halftime lead. All year different girls have stepped up in different roles that didn’t change tonight. Laura does a good job there, they’re in a similar situation to us in terms of numbers and off season stuff and it’s not always easy but she has them playing hard still. Our team effort tonight was impressive. We rebounded the ball really well, Hannah and Ryann did great inside and our guards rebounded well. Carley and Nicole
provided good ball pressure and did a nice job on Reimal, and when they had foul trouble, Amy and Montanna stepped up defense. Carley had a really strong floor game getting us into some things transition and 1/2 court. Nicole did a nice job realizing how she was being guarded and adjusting and did a good job
Drawing the defense and finding teammates. Both our junior guards showed good poise. Ryann and Montanna both had a lot of deflections and involved in loose ball plays to supplement good ball pressure by Carley and Nicole. Montanna has focused on other areas and not just being labeled a shooter. Really was impressed with Ryann tonight- she stepped up in a starting role. Her minutes were inconsistent early she always stayed ready, she’s contributed to a lot of positive plays over the last two-three weeks and hasn’t felt sorry for herself. She’s been a good teammate and answered the bell. Other girls had expanded roles tonight (Bree & Amy) and did a solid job. It helps when girls are engaged in the game and ready, even if it’s for a short spurt it’s good to have confidence. We need to keep focusing on getting better everyday and take it one game at a time. The girls are doing a nice job doing what is asked of them. We have some numbers that when we hit them, there’s a lot of favorable outcomes for us.
