Cheltenham Lady Panthers Honored for 20th Anniversary of PIAA 4A State Title

 

At halftime of Friday’s game against Springfield Township, the Cheltenham girls’ basketball team honored the 2000 PIAA 4A championship team. Twenty years ago, the Lady Panthers captivated the area with their unbelievable play and hard work. Coached by the Bob Schaefer, the team dominated with a 32-1 record, 13-0 at home. On the court, the team was led by three players who averaged at least 12 points each, and the team averaged 63 points a game. It was the school’s first ever state championship.

 

In attendance were head coach Bob Schaefer, assistants Lew Wisnoff, Mike Houghton, John Rogowski and Richie Schultz as well as members of the team Amy Baumann, Tammy Frazier, Adia Harmon (Massie), Shayla Johnson, Andrea Jones and Enonge Midgett (Mallard).
