Reasons for choosing Lancaster Bible College: “I loved LBC’s campus and their program for education. I wanted to go to a Christian college and play basketball.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in basketball at the collegiate level? “I love the game of basketball and wanted to play as long as I could. I set a goal to be able to play in college when I was in seventh grade and started the process my sophomore year.”
Coach Mike Elton says: “Evelyn is one of those kids who started for four years. She always led by example, and she’s always one of the hardest workers. She developed into the captain’s role as a junior and did a really good job with it. She wasn’t afraid to let people know what they had to do. When the coaches needed to make adjustments, she was good with that. She’s just a really solid all-around kid, and obviously, her talent really helped us quite a bit.
“Evelyn was usually guarding the best player the other team had on the court. Even when we started playing against some of the taller players, she did a nice job in the post as well. She has a positive attitude – you could go on and on about her. We will miss her a lot. She helped the program, she was an advocate for everybody, and she cared about people.”
