BENSALEM BOYS’ SOCCER PREVIEW
Coach: Rob Brown
Assistant coaches: Tim Hornberger and Justin Burroughs
Last year’s record: 11-7-1 overall, 7-4-1 SOL
Notable losses: Jordan Lee and Jonathan Larbi (Princeton)
Key returners: Hunter Shay (MF), Brian Gibson (Str), Kyle Maloney (D) and Chris Russo (D)
Others to watch: Nikita Schaefer (MF), Brendan Callahan (D), Jose Rivera (MF)
Strengths/Question Marks: The season is the question mark, preseason was a little different this year, and we hope it was enough to be ready for a short, tough season in our conference.
Outlook: “Our goal is to be in the D1 playoffs for the second year in a row and make a playoff run. Our seniors and juniors have enough talent collectively to make this sort of run, and we hope that things go our way when the games start. We have been doing very well in training, and I feel we are further along this year when I compare it to last year. We have no injures that will cause any players minutes right now (knock on wood). Last year there was 5-6 players injured to miss the start of the season. We wish good luck to everyone and have a safe, competitive season!”
