PENNSBURY 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-19)
Izzy Marinelli had 19 kills to go along with five aces and four digs, leading the Falcons to a sweep of the Panthers. Kat Croteau added five kills, one ace and nine digs. Setter Carissa Van Veen handed out 29 assists and also had two kills, one ace and seven digs. Grace Sobey (four digs), Amelia Stefanowski (one ace, five digs), Janae Scott (one kill, two blocks) and Ava Sciolla (two kills, one block) also contributed.
SOL Continental
CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 2 (23-25, 28-26, 22-25, 25-12, 15-11)
The Patriots made a welcome return to the court Monday and earned a hard fought win on their Dig Pink night.
“It was a great team win tonight,” East coach Kerri Rabberman said. “It is always a great match when we play them because of how hard both sides fight. It was constantly going back and forth with each team getting their runs. We had some rough moments, but the girls really dug deep and showed their resiliency once again.”
Aimee Wolf had a standout game with 12 kills and five blocks. Kaylynn Bryan added 10 kills, one ace and seven digs. Ava Napoletano had six kills and Kat Montabana also added six kills. Caroline Eldringhoff had 3 kills, 1 block and 6 aces. Anna Huchko also added 3 kills and two blocks. Chloe Mettille had 18 digs, two kills and four aces. Taryn Zakrzewski added 10 kills and four aces. Sophia Mettille had four digs and 22 assists while Katie Monaghan contributed 15 assists, six aces and six digs.
For the Bucks, Jada Reichwein led the way, finishing with 13 kills, 13 digs and two aces. Mackenzie Lund added seven kills, three blocks and one ace. Setter Maggie McCusker dished out 29 assists to go along with four kills, two blocks and seven digs. Alexis Barklage had five kills and two bocks. Rachel Hu led the Bucks service game with six aces to go along with 11 digs. Jordyn Klementovich had 13 digs and two aces.
SOUDERTON 3, NORTH PENN 0
The Indians earned a sweep of their neighboring rivals, receiving contributions up and down their lineup in the win.
“We battled in three sets to win this match,” Souderton coach Cori Watson said. “We've been dedicated to improving our ball control in practice and we saw that work pay off on the court.
“Our scrappy defense kept us alive, and our offense was the most efficient we've seen all year. We are excited to continue improving and seeing our work pay off in future matches.”
Alyssa Reiner led a balanced attack with six kills, four digs and one ace. McKenna Murawski added three kills, six digs, two blocks and two aces. Isabelle Feliciani had eight digs and three aces, and Amanda Swan-Geiger chipped in with two kills, two digs and three aces. Nikki Hamilton had 10 assists, seven digs and two aces.
PENNRIDGE 3, QUAKERTOWN 0
The Rams won another match in three sets and remained perfect (10-0, 9-0 SOL) in conference play. Pennridge was able to pull through in a tight third set, thanks in part to senior setter/hitter Alyssa Curry and senior right side hitter Abbie Iannetta. Iannetta rose to the moment on game point with a monstrous kill to finish the Panthers in three sets. Junior middle hitter Colette Paterson was also key in the victory for the Lady Rams.
SOL American
PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3, UPPER DUBLIN 2 (15-25, 25-16, 25-21, 22-25, 17-15)
The Colonials fought through a slow start and some inconsistent play, according to coach Dave Stewart, to edge the Flying Cardinals in five sets, setting up a rematch on Wednesday at Upper Dublin with huge playoff implications.
Non-league
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 1 (16-25, 25-21, 25-22 & 26-24)
The Titans dropped the first set but rallied to win the next three en route to the non-league win.
Junior outside hitter Millie Grove (22 kills, two blocks, 21 digs) and senior outside hitter Courtney Pohl (20 kills, four aces, two blocks, 15 digs) dominated play at the net. Junior setter Shannon Rector had 48 assists as well as two aces. Junior defensive specialist/libero Rian Grant had 22 digs. Sophomore middle Katie Canzanese (four kills, four blocks) and senior opposite Olivia Justus (two aces, six kills, 11 digs) also made important contributions.
For the Golden Hawks, Katie Rodman (25 digs, 11 assists) and Edan Kauer (22 digs, nine kills) led the defense. Kyleigh Bowman had nine digs, three aces and six kills, Avery Vaughan had two blocks and eight kills while Emma Helverson added four kills and one block. Alissa Helverson (20 assists, seven kills) and Ava Paulson (15 digs, 23 assists, five kills) shared setting duties.
