Upper Moreland Comments
The Upper Moreland Boys Varsity Soccer Team lost its first home game of the season yesterday to William Tennent by a score of 2-1. Tennent scored twice in short succession early in the second half to put the Bears down 2-0. The Bears battled back with a goal by Max Gerlach with about 20 minutes left in the game. The Bears had several opportunities and Aaron Snyder saved a penalty kick to keep the game close but they were unable to convert to tie the game. The Bears will play New Hope Solbury on Thursday night at New Hope for their next game.
William Tennent Comments
WT 2 Upper Moreland 1
Score was 0-0 at half. Tennent scored about 15 minutes into the second half on a quick transition goal by Christian Huslin from a pass by Carlton Walters. A few minutes later Tennent scored another transition goal by JT Stone from a pass by Damian Dangler that JT streaked down the side and finished. Shortly after, their goalie saved a PK which turned the momentum and they scored. They had plenty of chances to equalize, but our goal keeper Pat Corley played well in net. And our defense gave it all they had defending the final 10 minutes to keep them off the board. Overall, it was a great game. I’d like to thank coaches Dave Hanratty and Marty Corcoran for working on transition attack and defending long throwins at practice to prepare for this game. We knew they were dangerous on set pieces including a long throw in, so we wanted to be prepared.
