Reasons for choosing Lander: “I chose Lander because I really like the South Carolina area – it’s pretty close to my family because I have family down in Georgia. I also like everything the lacrosse program is doing, and I thought it was a perfect fit.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level? “I first started thinking about playing college lacrosse as soon as I got to high school. I was playing lacrosse for fun when I was a kid. I didn’t really think anything of it, but it just went from there.”
Coach Dean Curtis says: “I coached Ryan in youth lacrosse since seventh grade, and he’s such a great kid. Ryan has always had tremendous skill, and to see him grow in maturity as a player is so memorable because he’s just gotten better and better and better and kept working at his craft. He’s always been one of the better players on the teams he’s been on, but now he’s a dominant face-off guy, and he’s really hard to beat. He’s given so much to that one skill, and in lacrosse, a lot of guys just focus on that, but he still continues to build the skill around that as well. He can still play offense, he 
can still play man up, and even though he’s incredible at being a face-off guy, he’s not just pigeon-holed into that, and I think that’s a huge testament to how hard he’s worked beyond just that face-off dot.”
