In a cold, blustery Polar Bear meet at Holy Ghost Prep in Bensalem, the Lower Moreland and New Hope-Solebury track teams took to the track for their first competition of the season. Running indoor events outdoors, the New Hope girls were led by senior Emily Greenup's third place finish in the mile (6:02.5), along with cross country teammates Shannon Herbert and Nina Meixler finishing 5-6 in a fast 800m race. Senior Owen Nettles claimed a second place finish in the mile (4:44.1) for the boys, while classmate Benjamin House took 3rd in the 800m.
On the Lower Moreland side, sophomore Sophia Zalipsky took the top spot in the 400m and junior Jade McCool snagged bronze in the shot put, while senior Amy Zesinger (3rd, 60m hurdles and 4th, 200m) and freshman Amelia Ogawa (4th, mile) impressed in their indoor season debuts. In the marquee race of the day, senior Thomas Hellenbrand took 7th in the 3000m (9:46.8) in a stacked boys field that saw Archbishop Wood's Gary Martin run the nation's top time of 2021 (8:36.61)
