Strengths/Question Marks: “We have some depth at pitching. Aidan Weaver and Jack Hamilton saw innings and success during their freshman and sophomore campaigns. Other pitchers that will make an impact this year are entering their first significant varsity pitching experiences including Gabe Marshall, Max McGrady, Xavier Sjostedt. We have confidence in our pitching staff and in our backstop Andrew Whinney in handling each of them well. The guys behind our pitchers are a mix of two returning Varsity players that saw time as sophomores in Tony Rossi (3B) and Jack Nugent (OF/2B). The rest of the defensive positions will be handled by players that are new the varsity level, but we have a tremendous amount of confidence in them all. “
Outlook: “This group heavily invested in themselves during their time away from the 2020 season. Many saw huge gains in the weight room that have transformed many of them into extremely high-quality high school players. Like many SOL rosters, experience is at a premium. We are fortunate to return 5 players that saw significant time during the 2019 season as freshman and sophomores, 4 of whom were regular starters that year. This combination of experience will hopefully pay dividends as they help lead our other less experienced players. The work ethic at practice has been fantastic and they have been a fun group of guys to be around.”
