BENSALEM 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-20)

The Owls notched their second win in as many matches, rolling to a sweep of the Golden Hawks.

Dylan Young (11 kills), Luis Rodriguez (5 kills, 1 block) and Harsh Shah (11 digs, 3 assists) led the Owls. Dhruv Patel (31 assists, 5 aces), Tyler Hoang (7 kills) and Om Patel (4 kills, 1 block) also played well, according to coach Tim Linehan.

 

PENNSBURY 3, ABINGTON 2

The Ghosts extended the Falcons to five sets before falling in the tightly contested match.

For the Ghosts, Sam Miller and Zach Miller led the team in kills with 14 and five respectively. Leo Presta had 15 assists while Myles Winegrad had 12. Defensively, Bryce Lexow led the team with four blocks and Sebastian Skenderi added three more. Sean Dougherty had nine digs and five aces.

 

NESHAMINY 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-23)

The Redskins improved to 2-0 with a sweep of the Panthers.

Paul Allen’s eight kills led a balanced Redskin attack. He also had a pair of digs. Ben Clendening (3 kills, 3 blocks), Josh Clendening (3 kills) and Kieran Edwards (2 kills, 4 blocks) also contributed at the net. Stephan Fario had two aces and three digs. Jesse Kovaschetz’s nine digs led the defense. He also had two aces and two assists. Colin Smith added three kills, three digs and one block, and Nick Storz had 16 assists, three aces, four digs and one block.

SOUDERTON 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 1 (25-23, 25-13, 20-25, 25-18)

The Indians upped their early season record to 3-0 (2-0 SOL) with their win over the 2019 defending conference champion Patriots.

Aidan Wunderly’s 19 kills led the Indians. Andrew Brown added 10 kills and Grant Anderson had nine. Luke Hess contributed eight kills and 11 digs. Setter Nate Brown was credited with 50 assists.

East’s defense was anchored by Aiden Leichter with 15 digs, Matt LaBouliere added 10 digs, three kills, one ace and a block, while AJ Helveston chipped in two digs, an ace and two kills. Trevor Seestedt and Josh Lysinski each totaled five kills, with Seestedt adding three blocks and Lysinski adding four. Liam Ostrander collected 20 assists, an ace, a block, and a dig. CJ Dalby played a stellar all around match as he totaled 10 kills, five aces, three blocks and seven digs.

 

PENNRIDGE 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-18)

The Rams won their second match of the season without a loss, earning a sweep of the visiting Titans.

Ryan Benscoter led the Rams with 10 kills and eight service aces. Thomas McKinney added six kills while Tyler Johnson had five. Bryce Muller had three kills, and Skyler Ammon had three kills and two aces. Setter Riley Kodidek had 22 assists to go along with five digs. Dan Detweiler added eight digs and two aces.

For the Titans, junior middle hitter Christopher Kline had six blocks and added two kills. Senior setter Eric Reizas had four assists and four digs. Senior setter Garrett MacClay had an aces, five assists and two digs, and senior middle hitter Robert Coleman had three kills, one ace, one block and six digs.

 

UPPER DUBLIN 3, QUAKERTOWN 0 (25-15, 27-25, 25-14)

The Cardinals earned a sweep of the Panthers to notch their second win of the young season.

David Levin led the Cardinals with 10 kills, two aces and eight digs. Trevor Molloy had eight kills, and six aces to go along with a team high 13 digs. Colin Dowdell added six kills and two blocks, and Colin Ross had five kills, one ace, one block and one dig. Sean Bainbridge added nine digs and three assists, and Sean Seabrook had four kills, five digs, one block and one ace. Setter Spencer Beidner handed out 32 assists and also had 12 digs, two kills and two aces.

For the Panthers, Micah Reinford led the way at the net with eight kills to go along with three digs. Zander Marks had six blocks, one kill and five digs, and Jared Leatherman had five kills, one block and two digs. Jeff Sinsel had two blocks, one kill and two digs. Setter Cody Steieert had 15 assists, three aces, one kill and seven digs. Kurt Glaeser had one dig.

 

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, NORTH PENN 1 (25-23, 25-21, 23-25, 25-20)

The Bucks won the first two sets, but the Knights rallied to win the next set before the Bucks closed it out.

For the Knights, setter Brian Landes had 43 assists to go along with three aces and nine digs. Contributing double-digit kills were Billy Dooney (12 kills, 7 digs), Jacob An (11 kills, 6 digs) and Aaron Greene (11 kills, 4 blocks).

“Too many hitting and serving errors were the Knights’ downfall in this match,” NP coach Tim Moyer said.
