WILLIAM TENNENT 3, PENNSBURY 0

It’s been quite a while since the Panthers defeated the Falcons, much less earned a sweep, but Wednesday night’s match belonged to Tennent, which notched the big win.

Mike Carr’s 10 kills led the Panthers at the net. He also had five aces and two blocks. Jack Steilen had six kills, one ace and three blocks. Jay Layer led the Panthers’ service game with six aces. Cody Keeny led the defense with 12 digs, and Ben Weir added 11. Setter Paul Nedeoglo had 28 assists, one ace and one block.

 

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, ABINGTON 0 (25-21, 25-20, 26-24)

The visiting Indians notched their second win in as many matches, earning a sweep of the Ghosts.

Justin Burns had a big night at the net with 16 kills, 12 digs and two aces. Anthony Depalo added six kills while CJ Horan had six kills, three blocks and six digs. Riley Campbell had five kills and one block. Defensively, the Indians were led by Brady Klein with 18 digs to go along with one ace and six kills. Martin Nguyen added 14 digs. Dylan VanSchaick (15 assists, nine digs) and Geoffrey Sandhanamudi (10 assists, nine digs) split setting duties. Luke Sill had three kills, one block and two digs.

For the Ghosts, Sam Miller’s 12 kills led the attack. Bryce Lexow had six blocks, and Sean Dougherty led the defense with 12 digs.

 

Tuesday, March 30

NESHAMINY 3, BENSALEM 0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-18)

The Redskins upped their record to a perfect 3-0 with a sweep of the Owls Tuesday.

Josh Hamilton’s eight kills led a balanced attack. He also had three digs. Paul Allen (6 kills, 6 digs, 1 block), Josh Clendening (5 kills, 5 blocks), Kieran Edwards (5 kills, 4 blocks) and Ben Clendening (4 kills, 2 blocks) also came up big. Setter Nick Storz had 26 assists to go along with two kills, three digs and one block. Stephen Fario had one ace and six digs, and Jesse Kovaschetz added three digs and two assists.

For the Owls, Dylan Young (11 kills, 2 aces), Tyler Hoang (11 kills, 3 aces) and Harsh Shah (11 digs) all played well. Dhruv had 27 assists.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, NORTH PENN 2 (21-25, 25-15, 15-25, 25-18, 15-11)

The Patriots rallied from a 2-1 deficit to earn the hard fought win over the visiting Knights.

“Matt LaBouliere and AJ Helveston came up huge tonight for the Patriots, stepping in to share setting duties,” East coach Rob Minschwaner said. “CJ Dalby played an all around great match, and freshman Reid Miller came up with some key serves in set five to ice the game.”

For the Patriots, LaBouliere finished with 11 kills, 11 assists, five aces, 10 blocks and 18 digs in a stellar outing. Helveston added three kills, 16 assists, one ace, one block and five digs. Dalby had 10 kills, three aces, four blocks and 11 digs. Trevor Seestedt contributed two kills, four blocks and seven digs. Lukas Coombs had three blocks while Josh Lysinski had four kills and nine blocks. Aiden Leichter contributed four aces and eight digs while Reid Miller had one kill, three aces and seven blocks. Steve DiRugeris had two digs.

For the Knights, Aaron Foulke had a season high in blocks and kills with 10 blocks and nine kills. Billy Dooney led the Knights at the net with 13 kills while Jacob An had nine kills and six digs. Setter Brain Landes contributed seven digs and handed out 43 assists.

 

UPPER DUBLIN 3, SOUDERTON 0 (25-20, 25-23, 25-21)

In a battle of two teams that had not lost in their first two outings, it was the Flying Cardinals remaining perfect with a sweep of the visiting Indians.

“This is a huge win for us going into spring break,” UD coach Paul Choi said. “Souderton was well coached and a tough matchup, but our guys were able to work together and get contributions from everyone.”

Trevor Molloy led a balanced UD attack with nine kills and 15 digs. Collin Ross had seven kills, one block and three digs. Also contributing were Colin Dowdell (5 kills, 6 digs), David Levin (4 aces, 4 kills, 15 digs), Noah Fechter (1 ace, 2 kills, 1 dig) and Sean Seabrook (1 ace, 3 kills, 1 block, 9 digs). Setter Spencer Beidner was credited with 32 assists to go along with nine digs and three kills. Sean Bainbridge led the Cardinals’ defense with 21 digs and two assists.

For the Indians, Aidan Wunderly led the way with 15 kills and eight digs. Luke Hess had seven kills and six digs, and Tate Kreiser had 13 digs.

“Upper Dublin is very well coached,” Souderton coach Luke Pinto said. “They are well rounded and never let a ball touch the ground. It was a tough loss but a great learning experience for us.”

 

QUAKERTOWN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1 (25-17, 27-25, 20-25, 25-17)

The visiting Panthers won a grueling second set and went on to earn the four-set win.

Jared Leatherman and Micah Reinford both had 10 kills to lead the attack. Leatherman also had two aces and five digs while Reinford contributed one ace and a team high 11 digs. Zander Marks added six kills, three blocks, one ace and eight digs, and Jeff Sinsel had two kills, one ace, one block and three digs. Setter Cody Steiert dished out 22 assists to go along with two blocks, four aces and seven digs. Brett Musselman chipped in with one kill and one block while Kurt Glaeser had three digs.

For the Titans, freshman outside hitter Will Tantum sparked the offense, starting in set two and ending the night with six kills, seven digs and two aces. Libero Vladyslav Bordia led the defense with 15 digs. Setter Eric Reizas had 11 assists and added an ace and five digs. Setter Garrett MacClay had 10 assists, one ace, six kills, one block and nine digs.

 

PENNRIDGE 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-21)

The Rams upped their record to 3-0 with a sweep of the Bucks.

Ryan Benscoter once again led the attack with 14 kills to go along with four aces. Tyler Johnson had eight kills and two blocks. Bryce Muller, Nick Smith and Thomas McKinney each had four kills. Muller also had four aces. Setter Riley Kodidek dished out 30 assists, and Dan Detweiler led the defense with nine digs.
