Despite the outcome, South coach Matt Ehlers saw some things he liked in the final set.

“Due to some injuries, we've been juggling our lineup all season,” South coach Matt Ehlers said.  “In set three, we ended up starting four freshmen and created a spark and had a really good energy on the court.

“While this season hasn't gone the way we imagined, I believe we got a glimpse of the future in this match and are moving in the right direction.”

Freshman setter Josh Conley sparked the offense (one ace, five assists, three digs). Freshman libero Will Tantum led the defense with six digs and added four points on serve.  Freshman middle Will Nothum recorded three kills and a block.  Freshman Ben Grove came in at opposite and recorded his first varsity kill.
