Winston Churchill wores ties to help aid diplomacy. Dhani Jones wears ties
to help distract fans from his inability to actually make plays as a
linebacker in the NFL. And AJHS's own Joe Lennon wears ties and salmon pants
to bring some class among the teenager-clothing crass. Abington golf wore
their own tie yesterday against Pennsbury, and it didn't coordinate well
with the team's goals this year. Ben Cooley, a true heavyweight in SOL,
posted his worst round of the season, shooting a pedestrian 40, and Rich
Thorpe hit his ceiling as well, carding a 42. Brandon Caine (43) and Jake
Shur (45) played reasonably well, but it was Nick Coyle's 42 in the final
group that prevented the team from suffering its second loss of the season.
The 212-212 deadlock dropped the team's record to 12-1-1 overall and 9-1-1
in SOL. The team travels to Jericho National today to attempt to slay
defending SOL National Conference champs Council Rock North.
