Brett Lehman – Providence College (Track & Field)

Major:  Engineering

Final list of colleges:  Providence, Lehigh, Ursinus

Reasons for choosing Providence:  “I selected Providence College due to the environment at the school. I liked how everyone was extremely invested in the school and would attend basketball games and hockey games at a frequent rate.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in track & field at the collegiate level?  “I started thinking of running track at a collegiate level at the end of my junior year of indoor track. There, our 4x200 team placed eighth in the state and qualified for Nationals. Additionally, I posted a very good split for the relay that day. I started trying to gain attention from colleges during the spring of junior year and into summer.”

Coach Don Betterly says:  “After running 51.91 indoors as a junior, a series of nagging injuries prevented him from a breakout senior spring. Even in a limited capacity, he showed his competitiveness and work ethic and was named co-captain for the 2021 season. Brett has great potential as he moves on to his college career.”
