SOL National

 

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, HARRY S TRUMAN 0 (25-4, 25-5, 25-7)

The defending SOL National champions picked up where they left off last year, rolling to the three-set win. The Indians received contributions up and down their lineup.

Senior captain Ashleigh Adams, an outside hitter, led the way with 13 kills, nine service aces and seven digs. Junior outside hitter Ainsley Jordan added three kills, eight aces and three digs. Senior captain and setter Katie Logan had 15 assists, four digs and two aces, and senior setter Becca Wintjen added eight assists, one ace and one dig.

Also contributing were junior middle hitters Bella Slough and Erica Martian with three kills each. Junior opposite Sophie Lentz had three digs while sophomore libero Emma McNulty had four digs, two aces and one kill. Senior outside Julia Murphy (one kill, one ace, two digs), senior defensive specialist Arushi Singh (three digs), sophomore outside hitter Kaitlyn Lidel (one kill, three aces, two digs) and junior opposite Emily Mancini (one kill) also contributed.

 

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 1

The Golden Hawks used a strong net play to defeat the Panthers in Friday’s league opener.

Edan Kauer had a big night to lead the Hawks, finishing with 12 kills, six digs and two aces. Avery Vaughan added nine kills, one block and four aces in a strong performance of her own. Nala Kauer added five kills and one block. Lindsey Korn, Sophia Ranieri and Gracie DeSaro each had four kills. Korn also had two aces and eight digs while Ranieri had a pair of blocks. Lili Lauch (18 assists) and Gina Caraccio (11 assists) shared setting duties.

 

SOL Continental

 

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, SOUDERTON 0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-17)

Senior outside hitter Millie Grove turned in a dominant effort, finishing with 19 kills, 10 digs and one ace to lead the Titans to the sweep of the Indians.

"I am really proud of the girls tonight,” South coach Kurt Godfrey said. “It was a really good first match for us.

"I think we were able to hit really well and keep the pressure on Souderton. Millie was huge for us tonight, and it was nice to see Breckyn (Lyond) and Katie (Canzanese) play awesome for us too!"  

Lyond, a junior outside hitter, had seven kills, two aces, two assists and five digs while Canzanese, a junior middle, added five kills, one ace and one block. Senior setter Shannon Rector handed out 32 assists and also had 11 digs, six aces and one kill. Senior libero Rian Grant led the defense with 20 digs to go along with two aces and two assists.

Also contributing for the Titans were senior defensive specialist Morgan Schaefer (three aces, one kill, six digs), senior opposite Olivia Dallmer (four kills), sophomore middle Jillian Jefferys (two kills, one block) and senior middle Erin Mangan (one kill).

"We have a quick turnaround as we play West Chester East tomorrow morning,” Godfrey said. “I told the girls to make sure they get some rest and come ready for a big challenge tomorrow.”

For the Indians, Alyssa Reiner had five kills and three digs while Alexa Mazzeo led the defense with eight digs. Alli Sauerwald had one ace, two kills and one dig, and Ava Falk added one ace and four digs.

 

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, PENNRIDGE 0 (25-18 25-19, 26-24)

The Bucks opened the season with an impressive league win over the defending Continental Conference champions.

Alexis Barklage (seven kills, one ace), Lily Rasnake (six kills) and Rachel Hu (four kills, one ace, six digs) took care of business at the net. Mackenzie Lund's five aces led a strong West service game. She also had a kill and two blocks. Setter Erin Ferello was credited with 15 assists to go along with one ace, one kill and three digs. Caroline Taylor's seven digs led the defense. She also had one ace. Jess Donlevie contributed six digs while Alexa Lee had four digs and three aces.
