Sterling Limousine Players of the Week (9-23-21)

Sterling Limousine and Transportation Services of Wrightstown is proud to recognize the Players of the Week. Players are chosen based on the nomination of SOL coaches and football contributors.

STERLING LIMOUSINE AND TRANSPORTATION
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Terrell Delp, Harry S Truman - The senior quarterback put up Tom Brady-like numbers in Harry S Truman’s 39-29 win over Pennsbury, completing 17 passes for 350 yards and five touchdowns. Delp spread the ball around to five different players, but Makai Jackson was his favorite target and also had a career night, hauling in nine passes for 254 yards and three touchdowns.

Coach Ben Johnson says:  “This is my third year with this young man. Terrell has mastered this offense. He’s become comfortable. Each and every year from his sophomore year to his junior year to his senior year, he’s gotten better. He’s a leader for us. The kids on the team respect him. He’s really a hardworking kid. He loves the game of football, and you could see it on Friday night. The kid has the ability to extend plays. He can be downright elusive at times, he has a great arm, and his overall awareness is pretty good in terms of his escape-ability and being able to give us a chance to get the ball in one of our playmaker’s hands.”

STERLING LIMOUSINE AND TRANSPORTATION
DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Neshaminy Defensive Line – Junior Joey Zack (D-end), junior Jack Dunkley (D-tackle), senior Mason DiCeasare (Nose tackle), junior Nick Buchys (D-end) – The defensive line won the battle of the trenches and was the undeniable catalyst of a relentless defense that allowed just 37 rushing yards and 47 passing yards for 84 yards of total offense and no points in Neshaminy’s 17-6 win over Souderton. The Indians’ lone score came on a defensive strip that was run back for a touchdown. Buchys led the way with seven tackles, two for a loss, while Dunkley had four tackles, 2.5 for a loss.

Coach Steve Wilmot says:  Coming into the season, the coaches felt the defensive line could be a strength on our football team.  They are a blue-collar bunch, with some height and athletic ability.  Dunkley was a starter last season and Buchys saw some significant time. Joey Zack and Mason DiCeasare worked really hard in the off-season to crack that line-up.  I think they were a little disappointed with the way they played the first two games. The last two games they have been very effective, especially against stopping the run.  We will need another great effort this week against Central Bucks South.”

STERLING LIMOUSINE AND TRANSPORTATION
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Dayvon Tinsley, Neshaminy – The senior wide receiver had two receptions for 45 yards and also had three carries for 59 yards in Neshaminy’s 17-6 win over Souderton, and it was his two carries on a pair of successfully executed fake punts that were the difference makers. Tinsley’s 45-yard run for a touchdown on a fake punt gave the Redskins a 14-0 lead on their way to the big win.

Coach Steve Wilmot says: “Dayvon Tinsley brings energy and a great attitude to whatever he does.  He plays receiver, running back, defensive back, and is on every single special team.  This week he was very effective on our punt team, running two fakes, one for a first down and the other for a 45-yard touchdown.  They were two differently designed plays.  He has as great aptitude for football and brings a lot of energy to our team.”
