A very good win today, we had a bad game on Tuesday and I was really intrigued to see our reaction today. CB East are excellent, they have so much talent throughout the group. Jake is a good coach and clearly they have been playing well. Elise Duffy and Camryn Williams are outstanding players and trying to plan for them and then defend them was really tough, credit to our back line and the persistence they showed all the way through the game to keep fighting and preserve a clean sheet.

East had much more of the play in the first half, I thought we were hesitant at times and indecisive. Getting to half time was big for us, Jorge, Trevor & I spoke in length and agreed on some adjustments, their ideas and talk with the girls played a huge role in how we played in the second half. We were much more aggressive, especially in the back, that allowed us to play higher up the field and utilize moments of possession to try and break through. Lexi Fischer & Sara Tyler as outside backs were excellent, Sara created the goal when she stepped into midfield, won the ball and found Mia Cairone just outside the box, Mia spun on her defender and drilled a low shot into the corner. It was an excellent goal, Mia is great in those areas of the field, her ability to turn with the ball is outstanding and the finish tonight was superb.

Our key this year so far has been rotating players to keep our energy high, tonight was no different. Taylor Fischer was great in midfield, Jayne Bogle was excellent on both sides of the ball, Ella McAleer gave us much needed composure along with good defensive intensity. It's great to see our bench so invested in the game regardless of playing time and then watch their impact on the game when they go in.

While we were slow to start, our defense tonight improved as the game went on, Danielle Eden continues to excel in goal, her composure is good and her organization is improving. Riley, Morgan, Lexi, Sara & Kyra combined to give us the clean sheet and in the end I think it was well deserved.

We continue next week with 3 tough games, as good as tonight was we know that this isn't the top of the mountain, we want to keep improving and push for the playoffs.
