Central Bucks East Comments
Today’s game was all about heart- that’s what playoffs are about. In these games, any team can win on any given day. Quakertown definitely gave us a run for our money with an absolutely outstanding performance by their goalkeeper and defense. We held the advantage in shots (24 - 2) and corners (14 - 1) but it all came down to getting hungry in the circle and finishing. It was 0 - 0 at half, but it just took the spark of Ali Troth opening up the scoring two minutes into the third quarter to prove to ourselves that we could score. The third quarter was huge for us as Olivia Nolan notched the second goal halfway through the third quarter. Then, Sophia Parker finished a great run with a goal with 3 minutes left in the third quarter. Great runs by Paige Keller and Caroline Suko really put the pressure on Quakertown’s defense and led to a lot of our scoring opportunities. Now we focus our excitement and energy onto the next round.

CBE: 0-0-3-0 (Ali Troth, Olivia Nolan, Sophia Parker), Grace Gidwani (GK) made two saves in the shutout
QHS: 0-0-0-0, GK - 23 saves

Quakertown at CB East in the first round of district playoffs

Halftime score: Q0 CB0
Third quarter: Q0 CB 3
Final: Q0 CB 3

Kylie Lerch had 23 saves

This of course wasn’t the outcome we wanted, but I could not be more proud of this group of young women. Together they fought an extremely well-skilled CB East team for 60 minutes. Kylie Lerch had an unbelievable game in goal with 23 saves. Good luck to East and the rest of the teams as they advance to the next round.
