OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Brennan Fisher and the Rams’ offensive line comprised of Loughlin Smith, Nick Kraus, Joey Rindone, Ryan Gallagher, Danny Fish & Tyler Fuchs – The junior running back led the Rams’ potent ground game with 13 carries for 210 yards and two touchdowns in Pennridge’s 35-10 win over Central Bucks South. The offensive line paved the way for 400 yards of total offense, 355 for the Rams’ punishing ground game.

Coach Cody Muller says: “Our offensive line has seen a few different faces throughout the season, but the six (including our tight end) have settled in and played tough-nose football. They’ve battled through some tough games and led our ground attack for some big pickups. With so many new faces this season especially in the backfield, we were looking for a few running backs to step up, Brennan Fisher being one of them. Fisher is just starting to tap into his potential and it’s showing with his great combination of speed and vision. He made some tremendous cuts in the South game and led us on the ground with over 200 yards and two touchdowns.”

John Dzielawa, Abington – The senior quarterback had 16 carries for 175 yards and three touchdowns, and he also completed 5-of-8 passes for 60 yards and a touchdown in Abington’s come-from-behind 35-34 win over Pennsbury. His 10-yard touchdown run with a minute remaining pulled the Ghosts to within one, and his keeper on the successful two-point conversion gave the Ghosts the dramatic win.

Coach Kevin Conlin says: “Johnny performed outstanding on Friday night.  We needed him to be our best player if we were going to defeat Pennsbury and he delivered. He runs what we do so well with the designed quarterback runs and reads, making it hard for a defense to defend. He is such a great character kid and this game showed why he is the leader of this team.”

DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Dom Paone, Upper Dublin – The sophomore outside linebacker was the defensive catalyst in Upper Dublin’s 40-0 win over Council Rock North. Paone finished the game with 12 tackles, one sack, one fumble recovery and two pass break-ups for a defense that limited the Indians to just 127 total yards of offense.

Coach Bret Stover says: “Dom certainly has earned his reps this season. He has grown up in our youth and middle school programs and was really well prepared. He doesn’t play like a pup anymore. Last week, we hope we had a look into the future of all the plays he is capable of making from his outside linebacker position.”

Fred Retter, Quakertown – The senior lineman was a disruptive force on the defensive line with four sacks and five quarterback hurries in Quakertown’s 42-7 win over Bensalem. He was part of seven tackles and also helped anchor an offensive line that paved the way for 364 yards of total offense.

Coach George Banas says: "Freddie Retter had an unbelievable night. He was a man among boys, just absolutely phenomenal, and he's just a great kid. He just took over the game, and he can do that. He does our long snapping, our short snapping."

STERLIG LIMOUSINE AND TRANSPORTATION
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tyler Woodman, Quakertown – The senior running back opened the season with a 99-yard kickoff return and opposing teams have avoided kicking his way. In Quakertown’s 42-7 win over Bensalem to clinch sole possession of the SOL Continental crown, Woodman returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown to give the Panthers a lead they would not lose. He also had 15 carries for 124 yards and two touchdowns.

Coach George Banas says: “Things have really slowed down for him this year, and he’s slowed down as a running back and really let things develop before he makes his move. That’s a seasoned player that he’ll let his blockers get in front of him, he’ll let things open up, and then he’ll explode. Week in and week out, he’s really been a go-to guy for us. Him and (John) Eatherton in the backfield are a phenomenal one-two punch.”

Sterling Limo SOL Honor Roll

Cam Jackson, Upper Moreland – The senior running back had another huge game in Upper Moreland’s 31-28 loss to Plymouth Whitemarsh, finishing with 16 carries for 188 yards and four touchdowns.

Jeremiah Clark, Wissahickon – The senior linebacker led the defense with 12 tackles – seven solo – and had one sack in Wissahickon’s 36-22 win over William Tennent.

Aiden O’Brien, Plymouth Whitemarsh – The senior quarterback had 18 carries for 95 yards and three touchdowns in Plymouth Whitemarsh’s 31-28 win over Upper Moreland that clinched the SOL American Conference crown. His touchdown run on fourth-and-goal from the eight-yard line in the closing seconds of the game gave the Colonials the come-from-behind win.

Seve Spruill, Plymouth Whitemarsh – The junior kicker was 4-for-4 on extra points and also connected on a 34-yard field goal in Plymouth Whitemarsh’s 31-28 win over Upper Moreland. The field goal proved to be the difference in the game. Spruill was pressed into emergency duty as punter since PW’s punter was hurt and he also punted well.

Ryan Zeltt, North Penn – The junior quarterback threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns in North Penn’s 28-21 win over Central Bucks South that clinched the SOL Continental title. His 59-yard TD pass to Jalen Edwards in the fourth quarter was the game-winner, breaking a 21-21 tie.

Jared Zimmerman, Souderton – With starting quarterback Nate Hageman sidelined, Zimmerman stepped into the starting role under center and had seven carries for 70 yards and two touchdowns and also completed 5-of-7 passes for 80  yards and two touchdowns in Souderton's 42-27 win over Cheltenham. The win kept the Indians in the field of 16 teams in the District One 6A Tournament.
