Friday, Nov. 12

ABINGTON 12, UPPER DUBLIN 6

The Ghosts erupted for four goals in each of the three quarters on their way to the big win. Joe Stelacio had a hand in seven goals, scoring twice and assisting on five, and teammate Matthew Cholaj was part of six goals, scoring three times and assisting on three goals. Matthew Kramer also had a big night, scoring four goals and assisting on one.

Thirty-five seconds into the game, Cholaj turned a Stelacio pass into a goal, and two minutes later, Kramer scored a power play goal. Back-to-back goals by Stelacio – assisted by Cholaj and Steven Dorn on the first – put the Ghosts on top 4-0 just 8:34 into the contest.

The Flying Cardinals received a pair of late goals to make it a 4-2 game. Will Hurlburt (Aidan McCarthy assist) and Zachary Keenan (Dylan Rotkin/Hurlburt assists) each scored a goal with Keenan connecting on the power play.

The Ghosts took an 8-5 lead into the final period as the two teams combined for seven goals in the second period. The Flying Cardinals – who were led by the five-point game of Hurlbert (2g, 3a) – would get no closer than two goals the rest of the way.

Abington goalie Ben Panella recorded 30 saves in the win.

BENSALEM 5, WILLIAM TENNENT 1

Alex Hood scored three goals and added an assist for a four-point night to lead the Owls in Friday’s National Conference win.

Hood put the Owls on the scoreboard 9:29 into the game, using assists from Spencer Appel and Alex Bazylevich. Hood’s second goal late in the period put the Owls on top 2-0.

Hood’s power play goal with assists from Danny Mackley and Bazylevich sent the Owls into the final period with a 3-0 lead. Shane Maeir-Ridgway scored on a power play goal with assists from Mackley and Hood, and then it was Bazylevich finding the net on an unassisted goal for a 5-0 lead before William Tennent’s Quinn Morena put the Panthers on the board.

Bensalem goalie Ricky Gonzalez turned away 32 of 33 shots he faced in a stellar outing. Tennent’s Thomas Lomas was credited with 37 saves.

Thursday, Nov. 11

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 5, SOUDERTON 4

Aidan Keogh scored a power play goal (Luke Weikel/Conlan Carpenter assists) in the closing seconds of the game broke a 4-4 tie and gave the Colonials the dramatic victory.

Early on, it was the Indians who had the upper hand as they scored a pair of early goals. Matthew Malanga scored on a power play 1:41 into the contest, using assists from Jacob Chow and Liam O’Neill, and Nicholas Smith’s unassisted goal less than a minute later put the Indians on top 2-0. The Colonials rallied to knot the score with Luke Weikel (Matthew Flynn/Dylan Novitski assists) and Timothy Murphy (Danny Smith assist) each scoring a goal - Murphy on the power play.

Malanga’s second goal of the contest, again with assists from O’Neill and Chow, put the Indians on top 3-2, but goals by Flynn (Weikel/Aidan Keogh assists) and Smith (Conlan Carpenter/Murphy assists) put the Colonials on top 4-3 entering the final period. Smith turned a Timothy Alexander pass into the equalizer 6:21 into the third period. Neither scored again until Keogh’s game-winner.

PW goalkeeper Kolton Galie was credited with 23 saves in a winning effort. Souderton’s Noah Connor kept the Indians in it with 35 saves.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 7, UPPER DUBLIN 4

Ten players contributed to the scoring for the Bucks, who used a balanced attack to defeat the Cardinals.

Joey McFadden’s unassisted goal 13 minutes into the first period gave the Bucks a 1-0 lead after one period.

In the second period, Adam Ricci (Reese Dalzell assist) and Tyler Stevens (Ricci/Nicholas Bruno assists) each scored to give the Bucks a 3-0 advantage before Jack Bocul (Julian Plante/Aidan McCarthy assists) put the Cardinals on the scoreboard. Anthony Dowd’s power play goal with a Dalzell assist sent the Bucks into the final period with a 4-1 lead.

Bruno scored with assists from Luke Tremmel and Grant Funseth to give the Bucks a four-goal lead early in the third period. The Cardinals made it a 5-3 game with back-to-back goals by Bocul and Louis Gamburg, both with Max Frearson assists. Zane Sanders answered with a goal for the Bucks, using an Evan Hee assist. Bocul scored to complete his hat trick, this time using assists from Zachary Keenan and Kevin McGinly. A late goal by Ricci (Funseth/Hee assists) closed out the scoring.

Kyle Fasolak was credited with 20 saves in goal in a winning effort for the Bucks. UD’s Emmett Kepniss recorded 22 saves.

Wednesday, Nov. 10

NESHAMINY 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0

Cory Hemberger was perfect in goal for the Redskins, turning away all 37 shots he faced in a brilliant outing.

Max Gallagher scored the only goal the Redskins would need 4:43 into the opening period. Daniel McColgan assisted.

In the second period, JJ Hathaway found the net on a power play goal, using a Gallagher assist.

Gallagher – who had a hand in all three goals – scored an empty net goal in the final moments of the game for the 3-0 final. Noah Seewagen was credited with the assist.

East goalie Matt Mangiacapre turned away 36 of 38 shots he faced, good enough to win on most nights.

PENNRIDGE 8, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 2

The Rams, who led 2-0 after one period, scored five goals in the second period to blow Wednesday’s game wide open.

First period goals by Andrew Lizak (Cooper White/Aeryk Lehrhaupt) and Dane Fitchett spotted the Rams the early lead. They led 3-0 after Lehrhaupt (Pierce McGinley assist) found the net. Karson Grainey (Michael Booth/Noah Epstein assists) put the Indians on the board, but Kevin Pico (Ryan Pico assist) scored a power play goal to make it a 4-1 game.

The Indians pulled to within two after Grainey connected on his second goal of the night, this one with assists from Nicholas Hahn and William Pasch), but the Rams answered with goals by Kevin Pico (Andrew Savona/Tyler Manto assists) and Savona (Kevin Pico assist) to close out the period on top 7-2. Manto’s goals with a Ryan Schuler assist gave the Rams their final margin of victory.

Will Hussa and AJ Pounds each connected for a hat trick, and both also had an assist to lead the Trojans to the decisive win on Wednesday.

Pounds put the Trojans on the scoreboard 7:53 into the opening period, using a Jaxson Shandler assist. The Panthers evened the score when Anthony Pagliei connected on a power play goal with assists from Corbin Cassel and William Shaw. The Trojans reeled off five unanswered goals to go on top 6-1 on their way to big win.

In addition to Pounds and Will Hussa, Nicholas Hussa (1g, 2a) and Konrad Foulk (3 a) each had a three-point night. Danny Hussa added a pair of goals.

For the Panthers, Pagliei led the way with two goals and an assist.

Michael Bonanni was credited with 21 saves in goal in a winning effort for the Trojans while Quakertown’s Matthew Krem recorded 45 saves.

The Falcons used the three-pronged attack of Shane Siegmund, Reece Millman and Brendan Macainsh to defeat the Knights. Siegmund’s six-point night led the Falcons and included two goals and four assists. Millman had a hat trick and two assists, and Macainsh also had three goals to goal along with one assist.

Macainsh’s power play goal (Siegmund assist) spotted the Falcons a 1-0 lead 5:29 into the contest. Siegmund (Colin Michalak and Conor Kane assists) and Millman (Chris Sarver assist) each added a goal to give the Falcons a 3-0 lead after one period.

Siegmund (Millman assist), Macainsh (Siegmund assist) and Millman (Macainsh/Siegmund assists) each added a goal in the second period.

In the third period Macainsh (Millman/Siegmund assists) and Millman (Reese Picker assist) both found the net to close out the scoring.

Pennsbury goalie Aaron McDaniel turned away all 13 shots he faced in the shutout win. North Penn goalie Nick Ebbinghaus was credited with 44 saves in a contest that saw the Falcons hold a 52-13 advantage in shots.
