Friday, Dec. 3

QUAKERTOWN 8, WILLIAM TENNENT 4

The Panthers opened up a 5-0 lead after two periods on the way to their first win of the young season. Aidan Castillo’s three-assist effort paced the Panthers’ attack.

Lucas Cunnane (Connor Ellmore and Castillo assists) opened the scoring 2:39 into the game, and less than two minutes later, Jack Diliberto scored with assists from Corbin Cassel and Cole Slemmer. Late in the period, Connor Ellmore scored with a Lucas Cunnane assist to give the Panthers a 3-0 lead after one period.

A pair of second-period goals – both by Branden McNally – gave the Panthers a 5-0 lead heading into the final period. Anthony Pagliei and Castillo assisted on the first and Castillo also assisted on the second.

Cole Slemmer (Diliberto/William Wilson assists) and William Shaw scored back-to-back goals to open the third period, giving the Panthers a 7-0 lead before Matthew Castan scored on a power play (Brennen Corcoran assist) to put Tennent on the scoreboard with less than seven minutes remaining in the contest. Castan’s goal marked the beginning of a 4-0 Tennent tear that included goals by Walt Wolaniuk (Frank Rosenberry and Andrew Matz assists), Rosenberry and Matz (Rosenberry assist). Wolaniuk’s goal came on the power play.

Pagliei (Philip Richwine assist) scored with just over a minute remaining to close out the scoring.

Matthew Krem was credited with 16 saves in a winning effort in goal. Charlotte Reeves had 43 saves in goal for the Panthers.

Matthew Kramer had himself a night, scoring five goals and assisting on two others to lead the Ghosts to the mercy rule win.

The Ghosts all but put the game out of reach with a seven-goal opening period. Matthew Cholaj (Kramer assist) scored 43 seconds into the game, and the Ghosts were off and running. Kramer’s unassisted goal was followed by a goal from Sam Paulik (Sean Faye assist), and then it was Kramer connecting again, this time with a Sean Doyle assist. Tom Rourke turned a Seamus Donofry pass into a goal, and then it was Kramer scoring with a Joe Stelacio assist. Cholaj’s second goal – also with a Kramer assist – gave the Ghosts a 7-0 lead.

In the second period, Kramer (Stelacio assist), Ryan Portner (Ian Heydt assist), Jonathan Wexler (Heydt assist) and Kramer (Vinny Menniti each scored a goal to bring an early end to the game.

Abington held a 42-13 advantage in shots with goalie Ben Panella turning away all 13 shots he faced. Hatboro-Horsham’s Mason Rash was credited with 31 saves in the win.

SOUDERTON 5, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 2

Seth Grossman had a hand in three goals, scoring twice and assisting on a third, and Jacob Chow added a pair of goals to lead the Indians to their second win in as many days. Goalie Noah Connor was credited with 29 saves in a strong outing.

Neither team scored in the opening period, but Grossman put the Indians on the board 52 seconds into the second period when he connected on an unassisted short-handed goal. Chow’s short-handed goal put the Indians on top 2-0, and Grossman’s second goal – this one with an Anthony Lanzilotti assist – put the Indians on top 3-0 10:30 into the second period. Carter Povazan’s goal with assists from Grossman and Mason Worthington gave the Indians a 4-0 lead heading into the final period.

Nicholas Bruno broke up the Indians’ shutout bid with a goal 6:54 into the third period, using a Billy Loughnane assist. Chow’s unassisted goal gave the Indians a 5-1 lead before Loughnane scored on a power play with assists from Isabella Carter and Nicholas Bruno to close out the scoring.

Souderton held a 34-31 edge over the Bucks in the evenly played contest.

Shane Siegmund scored two goals and assisted on three others. His five-point night led the Falcons while teammate Chris Sarver turned in a four-point game with three goals and an assist. With the win, the Falcons upped their record to 3-1-1.

Brendan Macainsh’s power play goal three minutes into the game with assists from Sarver and Siegmund gave the Falcons an early lead. DJ Lindenmuth (Daniel Kvecher assist) evened the score, but a power play goal by Siegmund (Sean Taggart and Marcus Roberts assists) gave the Falcons a 2-1 lead after one period.

South’s Matt Crouch evened the score with a power play goal 1:04 into the second period, using assists from Aydin Thierolf and Aidan Gaffney. Pennsbury answered with three straight goals by Reece Millman, Logan Doyle and Siegmund. Siegmund assisted on the first two while Samantha Roberts and Colin Michalak assisted on the third. Lindenmuth’s second goal of the game – this one with assists by Colin Mendham and Aidan Linso – made it a 5-3 game after two periods.

Sarver (Taggart assist) and Marcus Roberts (Jake McCaw assist) scored back-to-back goals to open the third period, giving the Falcons a 7-3 advantage. South’s Aydin Thierolf scored to trim the lead to 7-4, but Sarver’s power play goal with assists from Taggart and Connor Coyne was followed 20 seconds later by another Sarver goal (Jake McCaw assist) to give the Falcons a 9-4 lead. Aidan Gaffney and Aydin Thierolf (Adam Cusick assist) scored late goals for the Titans to close out the scoring.

Pennsbury goalie Aaron McDaniel recorded 27 saves in the win.

PENNRIDGE 5, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0

Ryan Pico and Jacob Gilbert combined for 53 saves, leading the Rams to the shutout win in a battle of SHSHL rivals. Pico stopped all 41 shots he faced in a brilliant outing, and Gilbert turned away 12 of 12 shots.

Andrew Savona scored with a Kevin Pico assist 4:15 into the opening period. That 1-0 lead stood until just over a minute into the second period when Shane Dachowski found the net with a Jack Lowery assist. Colin Dachowski’s goal 22 seconds later (Jack Lowery assist) made it a 3-0 game. Goals by Lowery (Nolan Shaw and Josh Kelly assists) and Colin Dachowski (Aeryk Lehrhaupt assist) gave the Rams a 5-0 lead after two periods, a score that stood the rest of the way.

The Rams held just a 54-53 advantage in shots. Carson Lopez recorded 49 saves in goal for the Golden Hawks.

NESHAMINY 5, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 1

The Redskins opened up a 2-0 lead early in the second quarter on their way to their fourth win in a row after a season-opening loss.

Noah Seewagen (Max Gallagher and Michael Knipple assists) scored 10 minutes into the game to spot the Redskins a 1-0 lead after one period. A goal by Max Gallagher just over four minutes into the second period gave the ‘Skins a two-goal advantage. East’s Gavin Widmer turned assists from Charlie Keiser and David “DJ” Brown into a goal that made it a 2-1 game heading into the final period.

The final period belonged to the Redskins, who reeled off three straight goals – two by JJ Hathaway – the first on a power play with a Max Gallagher assist and the second unassisted. Between Hathaway’s two goals, Joey Hornung scored a power play goal, assisted by Liam Mooney.

Neshaminy goalie Corey Hemberger turned away 21 of 22 shots in a winning effort. East’s Matt Mangiacapre was credited with 30 saves.

Wednesday, Dec. 1

BENSALEM 4, WISSAHICKON 3

Alex Hood and Danny Mackley each scored a pair of goals and assisted on another to lead the Owls’ attack in the hard-fought win. Mackley’s goal with a Hood assist with less than five minutes remaining in the final period turned out to be the game-winner.

Bensalem goalie Ricky Gonzalez was superb, negating the Trojans 51-25 advantage in shots with a glittering 48-save effort.

Danny Hussa opened the scoring 53 seconds into the game, using a Nicholas Hussa assist, and a goal by Nicholas Hussa with four minutes remaining in the period – this time using assists from AJ Pounds and Danny Hussa – put the Trojans on top 2-1 after one period. Hood (Mackley assist) scored a goal midway through the opening period to account for the Owls’ lone goal.

Will Hussa turned an AJ Pounds assist into a goal 6:27 into the second period to put the Trojans on top 3-1. It turned out to be their final hurrah as the Owls’ defense and Gonzalez kept them off the scoreboard the rest of the way.

Hood made it a 3-2 game after two periods, scoring with assists from Cole Salayda and Shane Maeir-Ridgway. Mackley’s power play goal 9:06 into the third period with assists from Alex Bazylevich and Brandon Stahl knotted the score, setting the stage for Mackley’s game-winner.

Michael Bonanni recorded 21 saves in a winning effort.

The Indians scored three goals in the second period, rallying from an early 2-0 deficit. The Knights came back to knot the score early in the third period, but a goal by Nicholas Smith (Carter Povazan and Seth Grossman assists) six minutes later turned out to be the game-winner. Timothy Alexander’s short-handed goal into an empty net gave the Indians their final margin of victory.

Goals by Jack Bates (Julian Ma assist) and Ryan Kaufhold (Cole Pluck assist) spotted the Knights an early 2-0 lead after one period. Grossman answered with back-to-back goals for the Indians – the first with assists from Jaime Avaria and Liam O’Neill and the second on a power play  with Timothy Alexander and Patrick Callahan assists. The Indians took that 3-2 lead into the third period.

Noah Connor was credited with 27 saves in a winning effort in goal.

UPPER DUBLIN 9, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 8

Jack Bocul scored three goals and assisted on three others in a six-point game while teammate Will Hurlburt had a goal and four assists in a contest that saw the Cardinals erupt for nine goals, which was just enough to edge the Indians.

The Indians took an early 2-0 lead, thanks to goals by Gavin Tuniewicz (Drew Borden assist) and Nicholas Hahn (Jackson Accardi assist). The Cardinals knotted the scores after Bocul connected on a power play with a Will Hurlburt assist, and then it was Hurlburt scoring a short-handed goal with a Bocul assist.

Drew Borden found the net on a power play goal with assists from Karson Grainey and Hahn to give the Indians a 3-2 lead only to watch Andrew Kearney knot the score with assists from Hurlburt and Bocul. Wilton Pasch’s power play goal with assists from Accardi and Grainey gave the Indians a 4-3 lead after one period.

Upper Dublin evened the score 6-6 heading into the final period, rallying from a 6-3 lead after goals by Rock North’s Christian Funk and Grainey (Owen Stout assist) to open the second period. The Cardinals closed it out with three straight goals by Louis Gamburg on the power play (Hurlburt assist), Kevin McGinley (Julian Plante and Gamburg assists) and Kearney on the power play (Bocul and Hurlburt assists).

Bocul’s short-handed goal was followed by a Bocul power play goal (Jonah Fisher assist) that capped a 5-0 UD run and gave the Cardinals an 8-6 lead. Pasch’s goal with a Zach Weissman assist made it a one-goal game, but Aidan McCarthy scored an unassisted goal before Nicholas Hahn scored in the closing second to make it a one-goal game.

The Cardinals held a 57-33 advantage in shots, an advantage that was negated by the 48-save effort of Rock North goalie Zachary Borden. Emmett Kepniss was credited with 25 saves in the win for UD.
