Bella Aulisio – West Chester University (Field Hockey)
Major: Psychology
Final list of colleges: West Chester, St. Francis, Lock Haven
Reasons for choosing West Chester: “I really, really love my coach, and it’s also in such a close range to home that I can always go home, and the campus is gorgeous.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in field hockey at the collegiate level? “I started playing field hockey in seventh grade, and from my first game, I always wanted to play in college, and I always wanted to play at West Chester.”
Coach Dave DeAngelis says: “I’ve gotten to know Bella now for the last two years, and the first impressions I had was just her heart, her ability and her drive. It’s those intangibles. She has it. Also, she is conditioned, she’s skilled, and she understands the game, so from that perspective, she was just a phenomenal performer for us. This year she was one of our captains, and it’s not just the technical and tactical stuff, it’s the leadership stuff. Being able to inspire the other student athletes for a common cause, and she was one of them on our team that was able to get those messages through. I’m totally happy and proud of her.
