Strengths: “This team returns six players who saw a good amount of Varsity innings last year and will come back another year wiser, stronger and more developed.  Leadership from our three senior captains: Emma Zoldi, Noelle Wood, and Sofia Shields, has been strong.  They have created a very cohesive and positive team-first atmosphere, which should help all of the girls persevere through the inevitable ups and downs of the season.”

Questions Marks:  “Roster depth could pose a challenge for this year’s CR North team, after the loss of four senior starters from last year’s roster (most notably, the team ace, Kat Hastings).  The loss of senior captain and centerfielder Noelle Wood due to injury also adds to the depth challenge the team will face this year.  Facing a daunting Suburban One schedule, as well as strong non-league competition, the team’s endurance to bring their A game everyday while staying healthy will make or break our season.”

Outlook: “After getting the opportunity to get back on the field in 2021, which allowed many of our players the chance to experience the level of Varsity play for the first time, the CR North girls are eager to build on the lessons they learned last year.  They understand there is no leeway to have an off day when you play in our league which demands that you play the best of the best regularly (with one quarter of our overall schedule containing league opponents who went to the quarterfinals or further in the 2021 PIAA 6A State Tournament).  Our goal is to stay competitive within the league and attack our non-league schedule (which includes perennial PCL powers Archbishop Ryan and St. Hubert’s), in order to qualify for the District One playoffs this year.  We are confident that if we can do that, we will be well prepared when the playoffs arrive due to the competition we will face throughout our regular season.”
