Council Rock North Girls' Lacrosse Preview

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH GIRLS’ LACROSSE

Coach: Denise Noseworthy 4-year varsity coach

Assistant coaches: Colleen Leh 3rd year assistant varsity coach, Clare Murphy 1st year JV coach

Last year’s record:  5-10 overall

Notable losses: Jill Hopkins- mid playing a Shippensburg, Grace Vliet (not playing but could if she choose too)

Key returners:  Morgan McCaffery (4 year varsity starter going D1 to Louisville) , Bella and Allie Carpentier (Bella playing at IUP and Allie playing at Roanoke)

Others to watch:  Liza McBride, Maddie Mela, Charlotte and Julie Ondria. (Varsity starting sophomores)   Lucy Carney- freshman goalie and Jayne Bogle playing defense.

Strengths/Question Marks:  We have a strong attack and Mids.  We are working on making a stronger defense.

Outlook: “For this season, I would like to achieve a record of .500 wins or more. Morgan McCaffrey will reach 100 goals early in the season as she is one of the best players in the league.  Communication is key to reach success. We must talk and hustle to the ball. Draw control is going to be key. The player taking the most drawls will be Liza McBride.  Charlotte and Julia Ondria have great stick control and help control the middle of the field, as well as Maddie Mela who can play anywhere and is a great strength on offense and defense. Carpentier sisters Allie and Bella are leaders on and off the field, which has helped the younger players.  To top it off, Jayne Bogle is a speedy defender along with our freshman goalie Lucy Carney.”
