LOWER MORELAND BASEBALL PREVIEW
Head Coach: Mike Guido 1st year
Assistant coach: Colin Mayson 1st year
Last year’s record: 7-11
Key returners:
- Aidan Ricciardi, Sr., Shortstop
- Aiden Stepansky, Sr. Third Base
- Matt Dymowkis, Jr., Catcher
- Donato Incollingo, Jr., OF/Pitcher
Others to watch:
- Mason Tamarro, Soph., Pitcher/OF
- Ethan Jarosiewicz, Soph., Outfield
Strengths: Two starting pitchers, Tamarro/Incollingo, with encouraging stuff are both growing in the program. Catcher, Dymowski, brings a strong baseball mindset to the field and provides big boosts both offensively and defensively. Also, the left side of the infield, with senior returners Ricciardi and Stepansky gives a solid, veteran presence.
Question Marks: Pitching depth will be a question as the Lions get deeper into the season; we may be relying more on newcomers and underclassmen. Also, there will need to be a lot of mobility and flexibility in our lineup to accommodate infield and outfield positions.
Outlook: “The Lions are growing a young program that is focused on culture, engagement and forward momentum. Goals surround players and coaches that focus on improving small game tactics, being aggressive on the basepaths and on the field and finding new ways, as a player, to be as impactful as possible on and off the field. Currently, the Lions are nurturing an up-and-coming pitching program that is rounded out by Tamarro, Incollingo and newcomer Jarosiewicz. The Lions will rely heavily on these three to help support an offense of strong returners including: Dymowski, Ricciardi, and Mike Pennisi.”
