CENTRAL BUCKS EAST BOYS’ BASKETBALL PREVIEW

Head Coach:  Erik Henrysen,  4rd year

Assistant coaches:  Brian Yannarella, Jimmy Katasak, Jon McArdle, and Anthony Magallanes

Last year’s record:  11-11; league (6-8 league)

Notable losses:  Matt Stauffer (2nd Team All-League, 2nd Team All-Intell, Co-Captain), Danny Reilly (Co Captain), Kevin Phelps, Anthony Roggio

Key returners:  Brendan McLaughlin (12/Guard, 2nd Team All-League), Matt Gentry (12/Forward), Ben Kardane (12/Guard), Tommy Strasburger (10/Guard, Honorable Mention All-League), Blake Peterson (10/Center)

Others to watch:  Brendan O’Neil (12/Guard), Joe Laphen (12/Center), Brandon Birkhead (12/Forward), Travis Ives (11/Guard), Justin O’Neil (10/Guard)

Strengths:  Team chemistry is at an all-time high for the program led by the returning all-league backcourt of Brendan McLaughlin and Tommy Strasburger.  Matt Gentry and Ben Kardane have made huge strides over the summer.  Blake Peterson will provide an inside presence.

Question Marks:  Lack of frontcourt experience.  Can the summer and offseason accomplishments translate into regular season success?

Outlook:  With a returning backcourt that is now experienced in league play, it is reasonable to expect growth from last year’s 11-11 season.
