CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH SOFTBALL
Coach: Jennifer Robinson
Last year’s record: 13-1 SOL, 21-3 overall, SOL Continental Conference and District One champions, PIAA State runner-up
Notable losses: Taylre Stocks (first base), Shana Steigerwalt (right field)
Players to watch:
Francesca Carrullo (senior): Fran is a four-year starter, two-year captain. She is signed with St. John's University for next fall, but is excited to get her last season as a Titan underway.
Morgan Decker (junior): Morgan is a three-year starter, first-year captain. She was our offensive leader in practically every category last season and was also one of our top defenders as well.
Haileigh Stocks (junior): Haileigh is a three-year starter who played second base and pitched last year. This year, she will be doing more pitching and will most likely being playing shortstop when not on the mound.
Lauren Klepchick (junior): Lauren is a three-year starter at catcher. She is a leader behind the plate and boasts the strongest arm on the team. Lauren may also be playing shortstop this season as well when she is not catching.
Jae Epstein (junior): Jae is a three-year starter who will be making her way from left field to center field. She is the fastest member of our team which will be an asset in the outfield and also offensively at the top of our order.
Outlook: “Our team should be strong again this year after graduating only two seniors last season. Our younger girls should be ready to step right in and fill in the holes. The team is proud to have come in runner-up in the state in 2010 but would like to try to see it all the way through this year. There are definitely no guarantees, but we want to set high standards and goals for ourselves and do everything we can to meet and exceed our expectations. We know that other teams will fighting even harder to beat us this season, but we will just have to step up our game even more to stay on top.
