Central Bucks South Softball Preview

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH SOFTBALL PREVIEW

Coach:  Kevin Rosini (6th year, 55-32)

Assistant coach:  Ashley Sullivan

Last year’s record:  8-12 overall, 8-8 SOL Colonial Division

Notable losses:  Jasmine Chui (Holy Family), Jamie Marks, Nicole Pilla, Braylee Webb

Key returners:  Sr. Suzie Williams (OF); Sr. Taylor Migliore (3B); Sr. Ella Brennan (SS); Jr. Maddy Borowski (P); Jr. Marlena Hacker (C); So. Allie Franck (2B)

Others to watch:  Sr. Abby Magliaro (1B); Sr. Delaney Benjamin (OF); Sr. Grace Motley (OF); Jr. Nora Sidorski (OF); So. CJ Haney (OF/SS); Fr. Riley Erb (P)

Strengths: Ten returning players with Varsity experience (including our # 1 pitcher), defensive improvement (especially up the middle)

Question Marks: Execution of the little things (can we improve from last year)

Outlook:  “After a year where 80 percent of the roster had never stepped on a Varsity field before the beginning of the season (thanks to the 2020 season being cancelled), the confidence of the returning players has been much higher during the preseason.  Suzie Williams (a 4-year Varsity player heading to Ithaca College in the fall) will be the catalyst in the leadoff spot.  Maddy Borowski returns as the lead pitcher after striking out over 100 batters in her inaugural Varsity campaign.
“The leadership on our team, along with the influx of talent among the 9 new Varsity players, gives hope for a successful season.  Our goals are to focus on one game at a time throughout the season, compete hard in a tough Colonial Division, and ultimately return to the District One 6A Playoffs after not qualifying in 2021.”
