Central Bucks West Field Hockey Preview

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST FIELD HOCKEY PREVIEW

Coach: Lori Ierubino, first year as head coach of CB West.  4th year with the program. 

Assistant coach: Karly Adkins

Last year’s record: 14-2 SOL.  Won SOL Colonial Division.  Overall record 19-4; each of the four losses were by one goal and three of the four were in overtime.  Finished 3rd in District 1.  Made it to first rounds of states and lost in regulation to Parkland.   

Notable losses:

  • Lily Cosner – playing field hockey at University of Delaware
  • Nina Mayro – playing field hockey at Georgetown
  • Mimi Duffy – running track at Penn State
  • Lucy Damsker

Key returners:

  • Calista Boos – senior midfielder.  Committed to play at Wake Forest
  • Aida Ierubino – junior midfielder.  Commitment TBD soon.    
  • Kendra Pitts – junior goalie
  • Eve Damsker – midfield/attack.
  • Heidi Schoenleber – sophomore defense.  Only returning defense with Kendra

Others to watch:

  • Lucy Smith – freshman, forward.

Strengths:
Team has many club players that are playing field hockey throughout the year outside of high school season.
Speedy, talented, experienced attack. 
2 Jr National team members (Calista Boos and Aida Ierubino)
Returning goalie that is very talented, smart and fit. 

Outlook: “We have a squad of talented, speedy field hockey players that have a passion for the sport.  Our hope is to be competitive and to positively represent our school, league and district in the very competitive State of Pennsylvania.  There will be the expected growing pains that occur with each new year, but we are committed to playing together to compete as the best team possible.”
