Central Bucks West Softball Preview

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST SOFTBALL PREVIEW

Head Coach:

  • Ali Coleman – 4th year at CB West.  This is my first year as head coach, but for the past three years I have been an assistant varsity coach.

Assistant coaches:

  • Jess Schuck – 6th year coaching at West
  • Mike Daher – Head JV coach / first year with CB West Softball

2019 season: 9-10 (One of our most notable accomplishments was when we swept CB East).

Notable losses: Seniors Ella Castronuovo, starting first baseman, and Kayla Gallagher, starting pitcher. Kayla is now pitching at Mars Hill University in Mars Hill, N.C.

Key returners:

  • Anna Rodebaugh – 12th / Pitcher
  • Bryn Spoerl – 12th / Outfield
  • Abby Lineman – 11th / Catcher, 3rd, and 1st

Others to watch:

  • Chloe Dryden – 9th / Shortstop
  • Allison Mackwish – 10th / Center Field
  • Bailey Demusz – 11th / Pitcher and Outfielder

Strengths/Question Marks:

  • Strengths – Options on the mound with 3 very different pitchers; a more aggressive hitting line up than in previous years.
  • Question Marks – We are utilizing many young/new players in the starting lineup.  While we have the talent, we are hoping returners and new players can work cohesively together for a winning season.

Outlook:  “As a team, we would love to have a winning record for our 2021 season. One of our major team goals this year is to have a winning record against our sister schools (CB East and CB South).”
