COUNCIL ROCK NORTH BOYS’ BASKETBALL PREVIEW

Coach: Jesse Krasna (7th year)

Assistant coaches: Tyler Sessa-Reeves, Tom Townsend, Kevin Gallagher, and Andy Krasna

Last year’s record: 17-9 overall (11-5 in league)

Notable losses: Bernie Parent, Ryan Burkett, Logan Saifer, Shane Anhalt

Key Returners: Jack Blum (12th grade/Guard) and Adam Mahtat (12th grade/Forward)

Others to watch: Micah Oxley (12th grade/Guard), Cole McCarthy (12th/Forward), and Tyler Rodowicz (11th/Guard)

Strengths: “We have a lot of seniors that have been a part of our program for a long time. They all understand and know what we expect from our players, they are going to help the younger players when needed. We also have a very tall and long lineup. We are hoping to use that size to our advantage and work together to achieve our goals.”

Question marks: “Losing some of the seniors that we lost last year leaves us with some gaps to fill in certain roles. I am excited to see our players step up to the challenge and fill these spots. We have an identity that we know we want to play with, now we just have to execute. Our seniors are really hungry for their chance to prove that they can compete and beat some of the best players in the area.”

Outlook: “Our program is really excited for the 2022/2023 season to begin. We know that we can compete with some of the best programs in our league and in the area. Jack Blum and Adam Mahtat are our only two starters returning from last year’s team, they both have a lot of experience at the varsity level and are confident they can step right in and provide the leadership we need. Everyone else has a real opportunity to make an impact on our team. We pride ourselves on not just being more skilled or taller than opponents but outworking them together as a team. Our league is really competitive, Neshaminy is really tough, Bensalem won the league last year, everyone is really competitive. We know the opportunity is going to be there for us to really leave a mark on the SOL and district, but we have to put the work in first and come together as a team.”
