Strengths/Question Marks: Our greatest strength is experience. Nine varsity players were on the field or in the dugout for 12 postseason games over the past two seasons. Pitching is a strength for our program. La Salle recruits, Lauren Begg and Jenna Khantzian, have led the program to back to back PIAA State playoffs. The duo will give us a chance to compete in every game we play.
We return three players (Begg, J. Shields, Seiple) that hit above .400. We will open the season with two freshmen starting in the middle infield (S. Shields, Zoldi). Zoldi, Lorence, Booth, Hastings and Yoder have the ability to put up big offensive numbers. Weissman is a utility player that can play any position on the field.
The biggest challenges for our program will be staying healthy and creating a team culture that best fits this season’s team.
Outlook: “Our program’s goals are to compete for a league title, district title and return to the PIAA state playoffs. Begg, Khantzian, Shields, and Seiple have all played varsity innings since their freshmen year and have a chance to finish their varsity careers as the most successful class at CR North.”
