Strengths: “Team chemistry and desire are abundant with this group. They believe in themselves and each other, which will be key to the team’s success. This group has shown a great level of maturity, and they all push one another to get a little better every day. Unlike most young athletes, our girls have shown a true eagerness to receive constructive criticism which will payoff as the season goes on and we continue to grow together as a team.”
Questions Marks “After losing a massive amount of seniors to graduation in 2019 and two more during the cancelled 2020 season, we have very few girls on the team who are coming in with any varsity level experience. That coupled with almost no in-person preseason workouts due to the COVID-19 pandemic definitely puts our girls at a disadvantage in comparison to other teams who return a large group of players or whose school district permitted off-season workouts throughout the school year. How fast we are able to adjust to the higher level of play (as a group) will tell the story on how successful our team will be this season.”
Outlook: “It is no secret that we are a whole new team since the last time Council Rock North took the field in 2019. We are fully aware that we are looked at as the underdog while we work to put a completely new team out onto the field, but we are okay with playing that role. With one-quarter of our overall schedule made up of perennial powers like Pennsbury, Neshaminy, and North Penn, we know we will have big challenges ahead of us. However, as a group, our team has embraced this, and we believe that our focus on improving every day will result in surprising some people as the season goes on. In the end, we hope to return Council Rock North to the District One Playoff scene.”
