COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH BOYS’ BASKETBALL PREVIEW

Coach:  John Easterly, (7th year)

Last year’s record:  4-10 SOL, 7-15 overall

Notable losses:  Christian Crane now playing basketball at Ramapo College, Mike Stuski now playing soccer at St Joe’s University

Key returners:  Will Faccenda – 12 – point guard, Tom Townsend – 12 – guard, Eric Gallo – 12 – center

Others to watch:  Jack Wheatly – 10 – point guard, Mike Stock – 10 – guard/forward , Matt Stewart – 11 – guard, Mike Agasar – 11- guard, Dan Buchnik – 11- center, Mike Colajezzi – 11- forward, John Gannon – 11 – center, Dean Blank – 12 – guard, Jake Gross – 12 – guard, Dan Kockott – 12 – guard

Strengths/Question Marks:  With the loss of the school’s all-time leading scorer in Christian Crane, South will be looking for key contributions on offense from the returners and newcomers.

Outlook:  “The team looks to improve in the league and compete with the best.  If they play well as a team, the team will make a big surprise in the SOL.”
