COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH BOYS’ BASKETBALL PREVIEW

 

Coach: Andrew Rogers (Year 1)

 

Assistant Coaches: Elmer Kelley, Tom Marshall, Mike Perate, Chris Marshall, Luke Meakim

 

Last Year’s Record: 5-9 (3-7 League)

 

Notable Losses: Seniors Colin Martin, Joey Purcell, Stephen Dosa, Joe Venuto, and Brendan Lynn

 

Key Returners: Senior G Gavin Holloran (2nd Team All-League last year, averaged 14 ppg), Senior G Anthony Burns, Senior G/F Shane Dawson, Senior G/F Gavin Stock, Senior G/F Zach Schwartz, and Junior G/F Matt Robinson

 

Others to Watch: Senior F Chase Littig, Sophomore G Tim Rahill

-How do we replace the senior minutes from last year?

-Can we put it all together collectively as a group?

 

Strengths:

-Versatility at each position

-Veteran senior class with playing experience at the varsity level.

-Skilled group who have demonstrated the ability to compete at a high level

 

Outlook: “We have a very hungry group this year. We have a core group of returning players who saw varsity minutes last year, who are looking to step up into larger roles this year. The returning senior class has transitioned well into leadership roles throughout our program. Following a very committed offseason, the boys are looking forward to competing each game and challenging for the league this year!”
