HARRY S TRUMAN TIGERS BOYS LACROSSE PREVIEW
Coach: Cosmo Di Liegro (3rd season at Truman and 8th overall)
Assistant coaches: Dennis O’Donnell, Brad Milone
Last year’s record: (0, 8 SOL, 4-14 overall)
Notable losses: Tyler Brennen, Jeremy Ghost, Jake Sullivan
Key returnees: Jared Kline- Sr. Mid., Tylor Thigpen – Sr. LSM, Tony Peou – Sr. Defense, Steve Barrington – Sr. Defense, Mike Camacho – Sr. Mid.
Others to watch: AJ Kolar –Jr. Mid, Matt Sullivan, Jr. Attack, Nick Brachelli – Sr. Defense
Strengths/Question Marks: The strength of the team is clearly experience, with seniors making up most of the roster. Maturity and leadership should not be an issue. Questions will remain until we win some league games and improve our consistency from game to game.
Outlook: The team leaders such as Kline, Camacho and Peou will be relied upon to demonstrate a consistent approach that the rest of the team will attach itself to and follow. Losing our starting goalie Zach Kane, to injury, will be tough to overcome. Much will be expected of junior Danny Hine to step in a year early and hold the fort for us. New assistant coach Dennis O’Donnell is a seasoned college coach who brings in a new offense, organization and confidence to our team. As we have shown the last two seasons, this team is capable of staying in games with the league powers; however, we must also show we can win some of these tough games. That being in said, we should continue to improve our play and record as we have done each year.
GAMES TO WATCH: The “Blackout” game this year will be against Conwell Egan Catholic on Friday March 30th at 7:00 PM. A rivalry game the whole community should enjoy.
