HARRY S TRUMAN GIRLS’ SOCCER PREVIEW

Coach:  Rachel Zawisza (first year as head coach, fourth year coaching soccer at Truman)

Assistant coaches: Catherine Lamplugh and Mike McCool

Last year’s record: During the 2019 season, the Lady Tigers won 3 Non-League games and had 15 losses. It was the most wins we had in a few years.

Notable losses: Madison Van der Poel, who was our leading goal scorer graduated last year and now is currently playing for Holy Family University’s Women’s Team.

Key returners: Meghan Weed (12th grade/ defense), Abril Riley (12th grade/ midfield), Marissa Olsen (11th grade/ defense & midfield)

Others to watch: Brianna Love (11th grade)will be transitioning to a new position as center midfielder)

Strengths:  Our defensive backs are returning starters that will provide the solid foundation we need on defense.

Outlook:  We are looking to move some of our players into different positions this season.  I strongly believe each player will quickly adapt to her new position to help create a stronger offense with more scoring opportunities. Junior Brianna Love will be starting as our new center midfielder. I am excited to watch her transition into this new position.”
