Strengths/Question Marks:
Experience – Every pitcher from 2019 returns.  Eight position players return from the starting line-up.
Depth – Despite returning eight starters from last year’s lineup, there are guys pushing each other to earn starting spots.
Pitching – The team returns every pitcher from last year’s team.  As a staff last year in league play they had a 1.97 ERA and struck out 112 hitters in 96 innings pitched, while allowing just 60 hits.
The biggest question facing this team is “Can they focus on the next pitch and not look ahead to what could be next?”  Staying in the moment will be extremely important for this group.

Outlook:  “The Hatters have their sights set on winning the SOL American Championship and making a run at District and State Titles.  The team is as balanced and deep as they have been in the past twenty years.  In addition to their trademark elite pitching, the Hatters look to have an offense loaded with hitters ready to make an impact.

The pitching staff is led by 6’5” senior RHP Benny Wilson, who was a First Team All-League Pitcher in 2019 and has committed to George Washington.  He is a strike thrower with a fastball topping out in the low 90’s.  Fellow senior RHP Eric Thron had a 0.97 ERA last year before breaking his arm and having to sit out the remainder of the season.  6’5” LHP Jackson Treski returns for a third year as a varsity pitcher.  Senior Ram Krishnamoorthy and junior Jim Tooley return after combining to allow just three earned runs in 2019 over 12.1 combined innings.

The offense will be led by seniors, and three-year starters, Anthony Bruno (C/1B), Jake Bianchini (SS), Wilson (1B/OF), and Thron (INF), as well as three year starting junior Tooley (CF).  The offense also returns 1st Team All League second baseman Bradan Mallon.  Seniors Anthony Liott and Lucas Walker also played starting roles for the Hatters last year.”
