Strengths: Offense and defense – we return our top 5 hitters from last year, all of whom hit over .350 on the year, along with 3 other starters from 2021.
Question Marks: Can we replace Tooley and the innings that he gave us? Which pitchers will step up to give us the depth that we need to have the season that we want?
Outlook: “We return a lot of our everyday guys from last year’s state qualifying team. This group is extremely close on and off the field, and it showed in their offseason work. They push each other and are not satisfied with how the season ended last year. They have made a commitment to a championship culture, both on and off the diamond. Our success will depend on how quickly we can develop depth in our pitching staff. I believe that we have competitors that will dominate the bottom of the zone and give their defense chances to make plays behind them. If that proves to be true, this could be a special season for Hatters Baseball. I’m proud to coach this group of young men and I don’t take a day with them for granted.”
