Hatboro-Horsham Girls' Basketball Preview

HATBORO-HORSHAM GIRLS’ BASKETBALL PREVIEW

Coach:  Kathie Sims (2nd year)

Last year’s record:  6-16 overall, 1-13 SOL

Key players:

Cassidy Quattro (Sr., Center) - Our leading scorer and rebounder, Cass is our go-to player when we really need a basket.  She can score close to the basket, and she has a good medium-range jump shot.  She is also a  good defender who can block shots, and pull down difficult rebounds in heavy traffic.  Cass is also very dependable from the free-throw line, which makes her even more dangerous as a scorer.  If she gets fouled, she can consistently convert her free throws.

Haley Seifert (Sr., Forward) - Haley is the heart and soul of our team.  Her aggressive style of play and all-out hustle sets the pace for our team on the floor.  She is an strong rebounder and also a strong defender, and on offense, she is very good around the basket.  Haley also runs the floor extremely well and frequently finishes our fast breaks.  Haley leads our teams in floor burns, and if there is a loose ball on the floor, you can be sure that Haley will be on the floor going after it.

Hannah Mallon (Sr., Guard/Forward) - Hannah is one of our most versatile players.  She can fill in equally well as a guard or forward.  As a guard, Hannah is a good ball handler and a strong three-point shooter.  She led our team in 3-point shooting percentage last year.  As a forward, Hannah is a strong rebounder, and she is able to score on difficult shots close to the basket.  As a defender, Hannah is capable of guarding her player out on the perimeter or in the lane, depending on where she is needed in the game.  Hannah is also an excellent free-throw shooter.

Outlook:  “We are looking to build on last year by playing hard, and playing smart basketball.  Our success will all come down to our attitude.  We want to go into each game thinking that we can win instead of hoping that we will win.  We will approach each game with confidence and we want to win the games that we are capable of winning.”
